I like the simplicity of just white lights. But I remember my grandma had multicolored lights with big fat bulbs, I loved those!

I voted “just blue” because that’s what we (at my parents house) have right now. I, however, intend to do our house (when we have one) with different colors in different areas. I prefer solid color strands with different colors on different things. For example, blue lining the porch, purple on one tree, green on another, and so on. I’m always really impressed with large, over-the-top displays and I’d love to be able to bring one to life!

We do the big bulb multi color LED strings. I just feel like the colors make it more festive and happy. 🙂

@AnaA:  This is exactly what I love! Either the standard pretty white lights, or the big vintage multi-colored lights 🙂

And please make sure they are strung nicely. I hate the houses that look like that just threw a wad of lights around a tree out front. pet peeve!

Non-LED multi color lights on the house. Bright, warm colors are the most festive to me!

@AB Bride:  Not really. I suppose you could get strands that are just less-cool colors like the reds and oranges, but that takes the fun out of multicolor and it’s still not as nice (in my opinion) as the colors from non-LED bulbs. Perhaps there are bulb covers that can diffuse the light differently as well… I don’t know.

Don’t get me wrong, the icy white LED light can be great, and the colors too in their own right, but I must be a little stuck in my ways because no matter how I try I just can’t get behind them for holiday decor specifically.

I am a multi color girl. DH is a white only guy. So we compromised with red and white. We took a string or red and a string of white and twisted them together 🙂 can you do that with the blue and green ones?
