So I’m procrastinating from doing French translations and thought I’d get some input regarding my wedding shoes from you lovely people.
I’m planning on wearing a red gown – below is the look I want with the veil for reference – and, at this point, I’m thinking yellow gold and pearl jewellery and either a gold or black fur shawl or capelet to keep me warm.
However, I’m unsure what colour my shoes should be. Should I stick with either red, black or gold since they’re already part of my overall look or should I add another pop of colour with blue or green?
All input/suggestions are welcome

I think bronze shoes could be really lovely. just a bit darker than gold so it would feel more subtle. Nude could also work.
I think black, green etc could potentially just be a bit too much and that you should let your gown be the star.
Don’t laugh but I also love this tool for color matching. Play with the sliders until you find your red and it shows you all sorts of color options.

I would avoid using too many different color tones. If the dress is going to be a bold red, don’t compete with it! Choose shoes that tie in color tones from your jewelery

I voted red and gold. Gold looks so classy. You could wear red shoes if you wanted matchy matchy as long it’s a red the suits your dress and doesn’t clash.

@Miss Circe: How about ivory to co-ordinate with the veil but is soft and doesn’t take away the impact of your dress

I really like purple with red! Not sure if that would be too overwhelming though. Otherwise I really like PPs suggestion about a bronze color. Red would be too matchy for me.

@Miss Circe: Since you already have a big statement dress and 4 colors going on I personally would not introduce a 5th color. You don’t want to end up looking clownish. I love gold and red together (in fact red is about the only color I like with yellow gold), so IMO gold shoes would be lovely.

Hm red, if you can find shoes in the right shade. Otherwise gold/bronze. Ok but now I can’t get the image of bold deep blue satin shoes with that dress out of my head.

I would stick to gold or silver – depending on what you do with the jewelry.

@canuckandakiwi: Bronze sounds lovely – if I wore gold jewellery, do you think it would clash though? And you pointed exactly my fear with going with another colour accent because I really don’t want to have too much going on. Thank you for the link – I’ve been playing around with it for the past five minutes lol.
Just noticed that your user name, are you the Canuck or the Kiwi?
@Nferrari: Duly noted
@Soon2BD-CBee: Having it matchy matchy is what I’m worried about if I go with red. And a part of me really wanted to do the ruby red heels lol
@CatyLady: Hmm I didn’t think about ivory. I might have to try some shoes on to see if it works with my skin tone.

@jadlnc: Haha definitely do not want to look clownish

@Dancing-in-September: Lol neither can I now that you mentioned it But I think the others are right about not adding another colour into the mix

Thank you so much to everyone who has responded thus far! I really appreciate your comments and honesty – you all have brought some very good points.
Gold is definitely ahead in the poll – I guess it would be a matter of finding the right shade of gold. I could get gold glitter or strassed pumps, which might be cool.
I am interested in whether anyone thinks bronze would clash if I was wearing gold jewellery. My main concerns with red are if it matched the shade of my dress, it might be too much, and if it didn’t, it might look bad.

@Miss Circe: i would think silver would look beautiful but im bias i dont like gold and black would be to Gothic for my taste with a red dress

@Miss Circe: Again, just my personal opinion 🙂 But I don’t like mixing similar metal tones. Like gold and brass or gold and copper, gold and bronze, etc. I think it’s makes one look “off”. But that’s just me.
Maybe a truly dark dark dark red would be nice.

I’d pick a nude colour shoe! With your dress being such a show stopper I think something neutral would look best:))
