I LOVE VSQ! I’ve been meaning to download a whole bunch of their remakes just for my own listening pleasure, but always thought I’d use “Yellow” by Coldplay to walk down the aisle to. My BF and I love alternative music, so being able to use a lot of the songs we like would be great when the time comes. Some great non-traditional songs we like include:

  • Yellow, Coldplay
  • You and I, Ingrid Michaelson
  • Everlong, Foo Fighters
  • Miracle, Foo Fighters
  • Just Like Heaven, The Cure
  • I Will Follow You into the Dark, Death Cab For Cutie
  • Crack the Shutters, Snow Patrol (”Chasing Cars” isn’t bad, either, but it’s overdone.)
  • Question, Old 97’s (I cry just about every time I hear this song… what a sap.)
  • My Best Friend, Weezer
  • Echo, Incubus
  • Stellar, Incubus
  • Lovesong, 311 or The Cure
  • Friday I’m in Love, The Cure
  • Stir it Up, Bob Marley
  • Fix You, Coldplay
  • Invincible, Muse
  • Til Kingdom Come, Coldplay (Mean-spirited fact: I’m glad Johnny Cash never got a hold of this song.)
  • Hard to Concentrate, Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • Such Great Heights, The Postal Service

I stole all the songs from a blog post I wrote on this very topic not too long ago 😉

We will be using ALL contemporary music I believe!

Walk down the aisle – somewhere over the rainbow

First dance – So far away – Staind or Crash Into Me – DMB

Bouquet Toss – Single Ladies

That’s all I have for sure so far – but it will all be contemporary!

We used several movie soundtrack songs in our ceremony, including Phantom of the Opera and Braveheart.  I wish we could have used more!

my processional was an instrumental of Con Te Partiro (sung by Andrea Bocelli)
