You could go onto a country radio station and see what the top songs they play are? I know my local station does that. I mainly listen to country music so I feel like my list would be way to long. You could also check out itunes in the country section and see the top songs. The only this is it will give you mostly recent songs, not oldies.
I’m not a fan at all current popular country (and can’t provide any suggestions, but I love old-school country. You can’t go wrong with Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, etc.
Jason Aldean has a bunch of good songs! Miranda Lambert, Hank Jr. (has a few that are wedding appropriate), Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, George Strait, Reba, Alan Jackson.. hmm.. I am a huge country music fan! That’s about all that is on my ipod..
Ummm ….. Can I vote for all of them?? I LOVE country music!
“Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks is a country song that even people who hate country typically enjoy so I’d say it’s a really good bet.
“My Kind of Party” by Jason Aldean is also good. My mind is totally blanking right now but I think your best bet is to go to a couple of country radio station website or go to ITunes and look up some of the most popular country songs, play them, and see if you think you’d like to dance to them!
I don’t really want a lot of country played at my wedding because I’m just not into it these days (loved it in my teens) but “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” is a classic and definitely going on my must play list. I should probably come up with a few others because I know a handful of guests are country fans.
