I’m giving out bottles of wine as our shower favor with a customized label. Should it have the shower date or the wedding date on the actual wine label??? Here is the wording and a link to a similar label that shows what I’m trying to do.
The labels will read:
July 13, 2014 OR August 23, 2014
Thank you for
Celebrating with us
Thanks for the help Bees!!!!

Does it really need to have your wedding date on it?

louisianablue: I think it would be nice to have the date. Thats the memory of it.

I agree with louisianablue:… there really isn’t a need for a date. I think your names will be memory enough.

I agree with PP…. I wouldn’t put a date on it. The wine is nice, but the date doesn’t mean anything to any of them, just you and your FI.

What should I put in place of the date? Our wedding website? Our hashtag?

Hashtag? No. It doesn’t need any of those things. Just leave “pinot grigio” (or whatever it is) by itself.

ForeverAndEverAfter: If you’re going to do a date I’d say the wedding date. The shower date os totally meaningless. But you could always put something else…maybe a general quote about love or something.

ForeverAndEverAfter: if you really want to fill the space, you could put a simple one line quote from a poem, the Bible or your favourite love song.

In reality after the wine has been drunk the bottle will end up in the recycling. So whatever you put on the label is not going to matter and will only be for you. If it is costing money I would skip it altogether.

Any time I received any favor at a shower, it would have the shower date on it. When I made all of the games for my friend’s shower, I put the date of the shower on it. The little stickers we put on the favors had the shower date. If you’re going with a date, put the shower date. Honestly, the date is fine, because realistically, some people will hold onto this for a while, and others will not. Do whatever you want.

MrsMeowton: I’ve had the opposite – every time I’ve gotten a shower favor, it’s had the wedding date.
If you’re going to do a date have the wedding date.
