@sceeder: No, it really is Carrie Fisher. The couple sent a statement to People the day of their wedding signed Mike and Carrie Fisher.
I got the People Magazine today- very pretty wedding! My mom and I were trying to figure out what all flowers they used.
They said she was changing her name to Carrie Fisher, but would use her maiden name professionally.
She is such a pretty girl but I didn't think she made a very pretty bride. I didn't like her hairstyle or her dress (hated the see through corset top panels) I just didn't like very much about it at all.
I had figured she'd wear a more classic looking dress and her hair wasn't what I was expecting.
I love Carrie Underwood :) I thought she wanted to do "big hair" for the wedding though? I think the decor is beautiful but I'm not a pink fan so it's a little much in that color. The bouquet is also huge---it had to have been super heavy and awkward to hold. I agree with the other girls, she didn't make the bride I thought she would---the dress was very trendy.
are we talking about Carrie Fisher or Carrie Underwood....seems to be some confusion (at least on my part)
@texaslawgirl:OMG I totally agree! It was tacky..yeah I said it. I really like her and she usually dresses rellay well so I was surpriesd that her wedding didn't live up to my expectations lol.
@Firie: She took his last name apparently "Carrie Fisher" but I wouldn't be surprised if she still goes by Carrie Underwood.
@sceeder: oh ok....I don't even know who she married (or that she was engaged even). lol. I don't see much celeb gossip at all. hope she keeps using Underwood at least professionally.... but it would be funny to see a concert turn into a star wars convention.....
Well she got married at the same lake I am getting married at! The hotel she was married at is the hotel we are staying at on our wedding night! I was disappointed because honestly this is one of the most beautiful hotels/wedding locations I have ever seen and in the People spread there were not any shots of the lake!!!
I haven't seen it. I guess I'll have to check it out even though I'm not that big of a fan of hers. I actually went to the same college at the same time she did and she wasn't one of the friendliest girls....and that's putting it nicely.
Honestly, the big hair and the makeup.. she looked more like she a cheerleader than a bride! It was just a bit much for me.
I loved all the decorations though, that big flower pouf they got married under and the trees with the roses all over them.. so romantic, I thought she'd go a little romantic with her look, too!
@clarebee: It's too bad they didn't include shots of the lake? I wonder if they took advantage of it at all at the wedding?
@texaslawgirl I completely agree with you. I hate the see through panels on the gown. To me that just looks really trashy. I'm really surprised she didn't go for something that was more classy and traditional.
Oh my gosh, I died over all the flowers! What were the flowers in her bouquet? I loved the painted pucks, as well. I didn't like the dog in the tux so much, that stuff makes me a little upset. They had a gorgeous wedding. So dreamy! And he is one of the nicest players in the NHL, from what I read. So happy for them!
I think she is one of the prettiest people and she looked gorgeous, but the dress/hair was not what I was expecting. The article and pics were great- gave the fans what they wanted to see and still let a lot of it remain somewhat private.
Here is a screen grab of her dress (you can see her hairstyle and the see-through panels we are talking about)

I really don't like dresses that are see through. I thought she would wear something more classic.
I don't like the tiara and the ceremony dress. And I wish she wore her hair down. There are photos inside the magazine that show the bust of the dress and it looks like two cotton candy poofs covering her boobs... not cute. She did change into a cute short reception dress though.
Are the pictures online, or do i have to get the magazine?
If she's keeping her name professionally, I guess we should call her Carrie Underwood-unless you know her personally!
Hmm, are people allowed to post pics? I want to see but too lazy to go down to the store to buy People now.
Haha, I was thinking Carrie Fisher looks bit worn out these days to be a blushing bride :)
@ddubzz: I wish she wore her hair down too!! I actually had inspiration pictures saved of her hair down hairstyles and it looks so beautiful! The tiara was a little gaudy in my opinion and honestly when will she ever be able to wear it again!?
I agree with you all. I pictured her look being more timeless something along the lines of...Oh I don't know maybe Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy or even Jennifer Aniston.... I mean we see her in big dresses with all sorts of hairdo's and tons of makeup. We don't want to see the look of a stylists work, ya know!?!? Thats what I felt it was...A stylist chose her dress and put a whole look together then she said yes to it....
Not to mention her look wasn't too romantic to me, was it to you girls?
I just thought the whole thing seemed kind of low-class:
I can't find any more pics online other than what I posted, I think People wants you to go out and buy the mag.
I did relent and bought the mag...
I'm going to have a major narcisstic moment here and say ta-dah..I think I was a better bride. With probably 1/10 the budget. Heh, there I said it. When I first heard she was wearing a "heavy chantilly lace Monique" I thought maybe someone finally made my dream all-lace ballgown, but looks like the lace was only in the see through bodice. Disappointing. And the 40-carat diamond tiara didn't really do much for her. I showed the pics to my DH and he asked "eww, is that a Pnina Tornai dress?' (I've subjected him to enough episodes SYTTD) :D
However I thought the rest of the wedding details looked pretty. And she still looked better than the real Carrie Fischer aka Princess Leia would've if she got married now :)
I guess you can take the girl out of Checotah but ya can't take the Checotah outta the girl. ;)
I haven't seen it, but to each their own...right? Weddings aren't a competition.
I haven't seen full pics, and the pnina-like see-through panels (and tiara) were a surprise, but . . . .
Maybe it looked like a complete picture at the event . . . where everything was oversize, or overdone, but together it looked *right*? Sometimes taking a bride out of her venue, well, just doesn't translate. Kinda like taking something someone said outta context.
Anywho, I'm with Layla on this one . . . she looks so, so happy.
i really disliked her gown and her hair... no tiara for me!
i know she legally changed her name to carrie underwood fischer or w/e but she will continue to be called carrie underwood professionally, i believe
@meliss: I thought it was a Pnina, too! I read the article in line at the grocery store yesterday and was really surprised that it was a Monique.
I agree 100% with texaslawgirl; Carrie is beautiful but her wedding look was straight out of "Toddlers and Tiaras".
I was SO excited for this magazine to come out so I could see her hair and overall look. I was kinda disapointed. The wedding was way too pink for my taste, I didn't like her ceremony dress (thought the cocktail one was cute), am not a fan of tiara's and hers was huge, and I was most disapointed with her hair :(
I think after wearing that see-through dress I'm going to call her Carrie Underwear...hehe! And I was really disappointed in her hair. I've seen so many brides post inspiration hair pictures with her hair down that were beautiful. The style she chose just looks kind of messy to me.
I loved her hair AND her makeup. But the most important thing is that she loved the way she looked.
she's a gorgeous girl and props to her choosing what she wanted, each bride has their own taste.
i was kinda disappointed with her hair choice, i was hoping it'd be down and long and i could use it as an inspiration pic for mine! :P
I need to go out and get that issue. She looks gorgeous on the cover though!
She could work a paper bag as a dress. I love her and she looks so happy. That's all that matters.. but i will say I expected her hair down...
