I am not pg, but we are in our 2nd month of ttc...The first month, I just used digtial opks and I was convinced we nailed it the first try.  BFN, then AF.  So this month, I employed a few other tools, and was wondering if anyone else had any "tricks" they used the month they got BFP...

Here's my list of what I am doing:

1.) CBE Fertility Monitor (back up with CBE digital opk)

2.) Pre Seed  (Note: I recently read about using Pre Seed "backward."  Where you insert the preseed after you BD, and I read several blogs where this may have helped with their bfp..Haven't tried myself though)

3.) Pillow under butt for 20 mins after BD with legs in air.  I cannot believe I do this.

4.) BD'd A LOT!  The monitor gave me like 8 high days plus 2 peak days, and normall I'm all about DTD with DH but LAWD we're worn out when it's BDing every day!  It really does make it feel like work!

Last month was no gimmicks or tricks;)

How about ya'll?  What did you do differently, good or bad, the month you got your BFP?  And if you are still ttc, what "tricks" are you using?

The only thing we did differently was we continued to BD even after my temps and CBEFM showed my peak/O-day.  Previously we usually took a break after O-day.  Everything else was the same: temping, charting, CBEFM, BD every other day during high and peak, pillow under pelvis for 20 minutes afterward (no legs in the air though), prenantal vitamins.

I used instead cups after BD to keep the good stuff in.  Got a BFP!

I was doing the 17-day diet the month I got pregnant. And I swear all of the green tea (3 glasses a day) and high protein diet made all of the difference. Just recently I read that Green Tea helps your body produce more CM and that was the first month I truly had EWCM. So, ladies, I'd add some green tea to your routine! Good luck!!

I got on top(my fave position to end in), I didn't lay down to let them "flow" and I showered/used the bathroom right after. We had been trying a year when I got pregnant, so really, I had just given up and said hell, eff that stuff, just enjoy it the way I used to.

We were only TTC for a month. I googled what days I was likely to be ovulating based on the start date of my period. The days I was likely to get pregnant, I had a pillow under my butt during and after sex, and I was crazy enough to stick my legs in the air right after for several minuets.

The week I was scheduled to O we bd'd daily (I just went by my cycle dates.. didn't use opks or anything like that)... then skipped the day right before my projected O (b/c of other factors) and then bd'd the following 2 days. Pretty much kept our normal bd "schedule" lol

I didn't get up directly after.

I also always orgasm, which helps the uterus contract and "suck up" the sperm. Even if you orgasm for oral stimulation before actually bd'ing your uterus continues to contract for like 1/2 an hr or something like that.

Um...dumb question, I'm sure...but what does "BD" stand for? It obviously means sex, but I'm curious what the actual words are?

We quit trying.  We initially got pregnant right away, miscarried and then had six more months of OPKs and peeing on sticks and then decided to take a month off and regroup.  That was the month we got pregnant.

When you are trying there is nothing worse than when someone says "Relax, it will happen!  Just relax"  but it really did the trick for us.

I've never heard of pre-seed until this thread. How is that different from the KY water-based stuff I've been using for years? None of the lubes we've used have had spermicides in them.

@carrieknitscake: We went for the Pre-Seed stuff this month rather than KY after reading that KY might be inhospitable to sperm.  Of course, I read that in litterature put out by the company who makes Pre-Seed, so who knows if that's correct or just propaganda.  It did it's job though b/c it scared me into buying Pre-Seed.  Now we're just waiting to see if it did its magic.

@carrieknitscake: pre-seed has the same PH and texture of CM. It hasnt worked yet but I was impressed how close it felt and looked like natural CM.

@skibobrown: Interesting. I've always used the water based lubricants, not the sticky kinds. It sounds like the sticky stuff is the bad one for sperm. Hmm, I'm not sure of this one, but may consider using it when we try in September.

I have no idea if this worked, or was just a coincidence, but one thing I read in that one book (the name escapes me, but has been mentioned on here numerous times, it's basically a what to eat book if you want to get pregnant) is that fish oil helps regulate your cycles. I had really long, unpredictable cycles off of BC so I figured I'd give that a try.

I have no idea if that worked or not, but the cycle I got pregnant- based on U/S age- I must have ovulated right around day 14 (almost unheard of for me).

    Other than that, nothing different.

Hubby and I just tried for the first time and are in our TWW. I am 4 dpo and I swear everything is a symptom of pregnancy. If this time doesn't work (he thinks it will, I don't) then next cycle we are going to try PreSeed. I've also read of some women taking Mucinex or Robitussin before they ovulate because it helps with CM/CF. Drinking more green tea and taking OPK's twice a day instead of once. And hubby started taking a mulitivitamin.

And hi, this is my first post but I've been a lurker for years :)

@mrsjazz: I learned about Mucinex here too. I have a box of it for our vacation. Multivitamins are good in general. Since I started taking a gummy one, my husband liked mine so much that I got him some of his own. So, it's a small improvement. After reading about Pre-Seed, I went on Amazon and got the external lubricant since that's what we mainly use and a few more OPKs.

@panterapeach:  we tried pre-seed for two months... didnt really like it. We use it every now and then but not like we should... i was conviced pre-seed would work after the first couple times... guess not! seems like everyone on the website got postitive after using it.

@jaylovessteez: Hasnt worked for us either, I like the texture so I am going to keep using it.

I guess I need to brush up on my yoga poses, I thought I read somewhere that you shouldnt tilt too far back or sperm get lost behind the cervix.

@panterapeach:  Jeez...What's the right "formula" for your post-Bd prop/tilt?!?!  If I had known it was so difficult to get pg, that all the stars and the universe had to line up perfectly, I would not have paid $30 a month for BC for 15 years.  And I'd have way more shoes or something;)

@panterapeach:  Just for fun, and the sales numbers nerd in me, i calculated it....$5400 in useless BC!  I think my million-dollar idea may be some sort of way to educate people that they don't need to spend $ on artificial hormones...It's fairly impossible to get PG naturally! You can still go crazy and DTD about 26 days of the month!!!  I need to figure out a way to make it revenue-generating, but it's definitely a good start!  BC is actually useless!

@panterapeach: I hadn't heard that, but I also did not put my legs as far back as she does in the photo. I also only did it for a few minutes and then got lazy. I'd say maybe 5-10. And I really don't think it was what did it but I had to share my craziness!

@jholler25: You're not a slacker, but something to try next month! My friend told me she swears the only way she got pregnant so easily was because she did a headstand each time for 1/2 hour. that felt a little extreme but this pose felt like a compromise...  That said you can totally get pregnant without any of that (showering right after, etc) so I don't really put too much faith in it but I figured why not!!

@Mrs Green Grass: Thanks! I know ppl get tired of reading it, but when we were trying and kept getting BFNs I wanted to see something positive when the wait is a lot longer than normal & you were doing everything right that "they" say do and nothing happens. Or worst of all, you are about to have to make the call to the doctor because the 1yr is up. It's scary. I just thank God for this blessing everyday.

@stargal34:  Congratulations:)  DH was so scared of how emotional I was last month when we weren't pregnant, he was only TOO happy to aid me in whatever may work this month....So he helped me "prop up" every single time, and I'm SO hopeful that it works!  It wasn't very dignified, but I did cover up with a sheet!

P.S>Thank you for all of you CBEFM advice too, btw:)
