So, I admit, I’m terrible with technology. One place said I could do a free wedding website, but it was difficult to figure out and then I lost the password. I was wondering if I should just create a facebook event page instead. I just wanted some general information out there like where we have blocks of rooms booked, or a place to post wedding photos after, stuff like that. What would you recommend? Did you do a wedding website on a free site and love it? What would you say is hte best site or best way to go about it? Thanks!

I did a free one from the knot, which was easy to personalize.

@BriansBride: You can do a wedding website site through many of the free wedding sites, like the knot.com, ourwedding.com, mywedding.com etc, There are a TON of them…
Then if you want to make your URL shorter you can buy a domain for like $20 for a year and call it BriansBride.com or whatever you want, so you can fit it on the invitations:)
If you need to know how to buy a .com or anything just google it, there are websites that show you step by step 🙂

My FI’s son hosts a … ugh, I don’t know, a server? something like that. Anyway, my FI insisted that we use his son’s, so we could have the web address name he wanted, but personally I would have been happy with a free one off a wedding site.

I made one through wix.com. it’s great. You can personalize it way more than the template ones on the Knot or similar and it can be as easy or complex as you want.
You can just drag around things and edit text or get into complicated HTML editing if you want, its up to you.
Its totally free as well which is great and it doesn’t necessarily appear as a blog which I did not want for our wedding website.

I’m using mywedding.com. I thought it was pretty easy to set up. And I could use a design that matched the invitations we ordered from Wedding Paper Divas.

The knot and we bought the shortened domain. Just simpler for the invite suite and for people to type in

I try to keep all wedding related things far, far away from Facebook. We are going to use Appy Couple.
