My mom and dad used to throw a huge party at our place on their anniversary. I remember it being such a good time!! in fact a few couples in my home town did this. large BBQs homemade wine. my mom would always smoke a cigar on theirs… why idk shes brazilian.
So i have always wanted to make an anniversary party a tradition with us too. my father has passed away so it reminds me of my parents when they were together
did any of your families or do you have anniversary parties? maybe this is different with each culture.
this year was our first. i wanted so bad to have a party (casual) but DH was still away for work ;-( we had a welcome back party for him and there, we were going to eat our one year cake top. but we forgot and did it days after lol. it was good BTW. so im thinking next year we are going to have a party !! haha. who knows really.
for bees who have been married a while, do you have any little or big traditions that you do for your anniversary?

My parents usually just go out to dinner for their anniversary but a party sounds so fun! We went to the Central Park Conservatory Gardens in NYC and to a little French bistro for dinner. Afterwards we went home to watch a movie. It was our first anniversary and we had a very romantic day 🙂

souza_2005: My parents never do much, other than go to dinner. Parties are just for big anniversaries, we gave them one at 25 years.
My FI and I plan to take a cruise every year.

mylittleviolett: awe that sounds so sweet! we live in a pretty small town so something like a french bistro wouldnt be an option.. or italian.
MrsUPS: a cruise sounds awesome! esp every year! i think since we lived in such a small town.. and i mean small. a party was something fun to do . there were no restaurants where i grew up in the fall and winter.

We just went out to dinner this year, but we’ll probably do a mini vacation when I’m not so pregnant lol.

We’re fairly boring.. We go for dinner, take a weekend trip, or hit up a nicer spa than the place we usually go to.
A big party sounds fun.. Maybe you could throw one to celebrate your anniversary and remember your dad? It sounds like there’s not much else to do in your town and the party would be fun for more than just you guys.

My parents usually just go out for dinner, or a trip for the bigger ones. I missed their 25th anniversary because I was living abroad, so for their anniversary this year I took them to Disneyland.
I don’t like parties in my honor haha so we will probably just do the same as my parents: dinner and/or trip.

We just had our first anniversary and did a mini vacay to for the weekend. Sightseeing, great lunch, an MLB baseball game (romantic I know), hotel for the night and then outlet shopping the next day. Perfect for us! And we cut into the top layer of our cake when we got home. It was delish btw!
My parents don’t celebrate thiers at all.
