What do the bride and groom do after the reception? Help clean up? Drive off to a hotel room? Go back to their hotel room to change out of their clothes? Drive off to the airport? What did you do after your wedding and what was most logistically feasible?

After the wedding, Mrs. Bee and I hung out while firefighters rescued her parents from being trapped in an elevator!

We are planning an after hours for our friends since the reception ends at 11:30 and the bar/resturant is next to the hotel were the out of town guests will be staying at.

We had an afternoon wedding that was over at 4:00.  We helped to pack up some stuff in my mom's car, went to the hotel to hang out with some family and then went out to dinner together.  The hotel had champagne and strawberries for us after dinner.

we were driven to our bed and breakfast where I took out the 50 billion pins from my hair and got changed into my, uh, wedding night attire.  Then we opened up all of our cards that had been delivered to our room by our DOC, opened up our presents to each other...and...

We were just talking about this the other day. Should we go change and help with the tear down and clean up of the reception area? I haven't quite figured that out yet.

Our wedding reception was over at 11:00 pm, and it was in the hotel where we were staying for the night.  We made sure our vendors had been tipped, guests had been sent off safely, and then we went up to our room with our DOC to deliver all of our gifts to safety.  Then we went to the hotel bar for about an hour to socialize more with friends and family before going back up to our room!

I had a semi-destination wedding.  It was held at a lodge near my family's cabin.  All the guests stayed there.  It was really nice, because the staff gathered up everything- centerpieces, left over cake, guest book stuff, etc. and placed in a particular spot for us to take care of the next day.

So right after the reception all we had to do was change clothes and head for the after party.

At other weddings I've been a part of it's usually the immediate family and bridal party that take care of all the cleanup/loose ends that the venue requires so that the bride and groom can just relax.

Our wedding is over at 1am.  Because we will be in Philly with a lot of out of town guests, we have rented a trolley to take everyone who is interested first to the Art Museum to run up the stairs like Rocky and then to South Philadelphia for an Authentic Cheesesteak.

we were the last to leave the venue. Hubby help strike down all the music gear, and when he was done, we hailed a cab back to our hotel.
