In thinking of the two days before the wedding (Thur & Fri), I’m trying to start planning – specifically with Out of Town guests and family in mind.
I’m not having a bridal party, so there was no need for a rehearsal dinner.
My cousin, however, is having a casual dinner at his house on Thursday for the Out of Town guests and family (how super sweet is that?!).
What I’m trying to think through is Friday…..
I’d like to maximize time with folks from out of town – should I plan events for the day and/or night? (ie: nails for the ladies… ) ????
I can’t afford to host a dinner anywhere – but would love for there to be a place where we could celebrate together the night before (like a no-host bar or lounge or something)??
Would love all ideas!

One of my MOHs is throwing my shower the Thursday before. On Friday we are doing the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and also dropping off all the drinks and decor for the reception. We want our rehearsal dinner to be casual so everyone can feel comfortable and get to know the OOTers. We want to do a BBQ and/or beach bonfire. At my SILs wedding her Father-In-Law threw them an informal party for Out of Town guests and family. Since they are Italian there was tons of amazing homemade food!

I will do mani/pedis with my mom and Maid/Matron of Honor, but the only day-before event for the whole crew is the rehearsal and dinner. They’ll be spending enough of their time with me the next day!

The day before, all of the girls and I will go to the salon to get our nails done and massages. Then we’ll do our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. After dinner we’ll all head to the boys’ hotel and have a pool party until around 11 or so :]

- Wedding: March 2010 - Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay
we had a rehearsall and welcome event, but earlier in the day i hung out at the spa with my girlfriends. since you don’t have anything planned for friday evening right now, i think your idea of having a non-hosted get-together at a bar or lounge is a great idea! since it’s non-hosted, you can just send out a casual email invite saying something like “i’m going to enjoy a few drinks and [this place] and if you’re free, please join!”

I went to the spa with my MOH! That was wonderful. I got a hot stone massage, went in the hot tub, steam room, sauna… ahhhhh relaxation 🙂 After I got back I had to finish up a few last minute things like taking stuff to the reception hall. For the night I went and stayed at my parents house. We had drinks and me, mom, dad and my sis all sat arounded the kitchen table for hours talking. Definitely was a good night 🙂

@bloodgo, where did you go for the spa experience? I’ve been thinking of doing the same!

The Friday before I will be busting out Bouts and Bouquets, reahearsing, having the Rehearsal Dinner, and probably getting my nails done. We will probably do some of the table set up as well so it’s all ready to decorate in the morning.

put out the seats for the service in the park/orchard
and all the lectern ect
pack my honeymoon bag into the car
Hide my wedding night lingerie under the bed for whipping out at appropriate moment,
tidy the bedroom (for fun on the wedding night)
Say goodbye to my Fiance (I won’t see him again until I’m going up the isle!)
Have a big late lunch in town with my mum and Maid/Matron of Honor and my bridesmaid
go to Rehab (the nail place!) Facial, eyelash extensions for me and then manicure and pedicures for all four of us!
Then go back to my Mum’s, with my sister (and MOH) and enjoy a long hot bath -wash my hair, watch telly and chat with a big bottle of wine! and some tea (by which I mean dinner) and then take some valerian tea to help me sleep!!

We’re having breakfast with some close friends. Then my girls and I are getting manis and pedis. Then it’s on to the reherseal and reherseal dinner. I think my Fiance will be doing last minute things that I won’t be able to do (like getting things to our venue, picking up the rings, etc).

I’m taking my mom out for mani/pedi/massage for both of us. Thank people start arriving into town before the rehearsal and after the rehearsal dinner I think we’ll hang out at the hotel where our guests are staying.
