Hey bees – we celebrated 6 months yesterday and have been thinking a lot about our first anniversary in October. We’re avid travelers and had a great 2 weeks island hopping in Hawaii for our honeymoon, and have wanted to go to Belize for our first anniversary and hopefully have small trips every year after that. Problem is, we already have another trip planned for a wedding to California this summer and it will end up being about a week, and we are worried that it might be a lot to do two trips in one year within a three-month period of each other. So – I’m wondering what you guys did or are planning to do, what kinds of restraints your plans are/were based off of (any other trips that year? no honeymoon? budget concerns? etc), where and how far you’re going, etc. Thanks in advance!

@mrscash: I think I would go away locally for a couple of nights. We are TTC so it will depend on that!

For our one year anniversary, we will be heading to Hawaii for 7 days with our 2 daughters and two of their friends.
Our summer is already packed with activities: 2 half marathons and one daughter’s high school graduation in May, east coast wedding in June, climbing Mt. Whitney in July, and a week in Hawaii in August before the girls start school on the 26th.
@mrscash: If it’s financially feasible, and you can take time off from work without complications, go for it! Belize sounds exciting, and California is a wonderful place to visit with LOTS of things to do.

We were planning on going to Italy for our one year (since I wanted to go there for honeymoon, but he wanted a relaxing beach honeymoon) , so we went, but a little delayed, 2 month after anniversary. But then he wanted to go to Peru to hike the Inca trail…. So we did that too, about a month before our anniversary.

- Wedding: May 2013 - Walt Disney World
FI will be deployed again by the time our first anniversary rolls around, so I’ll be all by my lonesome. 🙁 Maybe I will visit my family and go back to Disney (where we are getting married). 🙂

My original plan was to see if my husband wanted to go to this resort in Jamaica that I loved years ago. However, we are scheduled to close on a house late May/early June, so I think our 1 year anniversary will have to be something more simple, like a night at a bed & breakfast…that’s if I could tear myself away from my soon-to-be-home!

Hello date twin! We’re using the hotel reward points we earned from our wedding to go away for a couple days. We also plan on having the same type of champagne we had at our wedding and eat our saved cake layer.

Who knows what our financial situation will be then but I can tell you that we will at least be heading out to Palm Springs/La Quinta for some fun and sun! If budget allows a bigger trip will be in order 🙂

We are heading to Mexico for 10 days for our one year wedding anniversary. We are also going to Vegas & NYC this year for other vacations (we love traveling). We both are blessed with quite a substantial amount of PTO every year, so we usually try to use most of it vacationing.
