What did you get your parents?

My mom has always said she wishes they had a better wedding album (it’s just photos shoved in a flip-book.) I took all the photos, scanned them in, and made a Mixbook (our wedding was the day before their 35th anniversary).

I think a book you make is lovely. Seriously. A gift from the heart means way more than something with high monetary value.

We gave our parents photobooks after we got our pro pics. They love them and always put them out when hosting events at the house.

I got them embroidered handkerchiefs and plan to have a photobook made for my mother. Even though we are super close, my stepdad is impossible to shop for so I don’t have anything else specifically for him, but my FI did get him something.

We are a huuuuge gifting family, so it would be kind of weird for us not to go over the top. With that said, I think all of this is a little much, but anyway, here goes! Hopefully this will give the OP/other bees some ideas:

Mom: mini-accordion photobook with pictures of FI&me growing up + adult pictures (from mpix.com), IOU for wedding album, pedicure and manicure the morning-of, monogrammed weekender bag (Etsy), ring dish that says “I’ll always take care of her” (from FI, obviously – Etsy), dangly pearl bracelet (Etsy)

Dad & stepmom: mini-accordion photobook, IOU for wedding album, mani-pedi for stepmom the morning-of, Carabba’s gift certificate, bottle of wine, homemade cookies, coffee mug that says “Of all the walks we’ve taken together, this one is my favorite” (for Dad – Etsy), ceramic heart ornament that says “With all our love and gratitude” (for stepmom – Etsy)

FI’s parents: mini-accordion photobook, IOU for wedding album, mani-pedi for FMIL the morning-of, wine, restaurant gift certificate, bourbon, engraved collar stays that say “Love you, Dad” (for FFIL – Etsy), hammered silver bracelet that says (on the inside) “Thank you for raising the man of my dreams” (for FMIL from me – Etsy)

Aunt (who is helping us a TON): tote bag screen-printed with a black lab (Etsy), mani-pedi the morning of, beer (for her and her SO, haha), ceramic heart ornament that says “Aunt of the bride” (Etsy)

Grandmothers: personalized hankies from Wedding Chicks (wayyyy cuter than the ones I could find on Etsy!)

BFF (would be MOH, but we’re not doing a bridal party): halo earrings set (JewelMint)

Officiant (would be BM): paying for his hotel room since he’s coming in from out of town, leather portfolio (also to hold our ceremony script, haha, but I think he will like it anyway), bourbon

FBIL: engraved guitar pick (Etsy), some kind of food treat? not sure about that yet, he’s too young to drink legally, lol

FSIL: pyramid stud earrings (she’s a little punk, haha) (Etsy), coconut rum

Also, we bought the most beautiful personalized cards on Etsy!! Ugh, I love them soooo much!

That looks really crazy, but we’re only at about $250 right now, and we only need to buy the food/drink items, mani-pedis the morning of, hotel room for officiant, and one gift card!

Oops, and I forgot to put mani-pedi for BFF and FSIL (though FSIL might just hang out with us, as that’s not really her thing!).

@renwoman:  I bought wooden frames (three hanging down together of about 4×4 size) from michaels and am painting them for the moms. The dads are getting the groomsmen gifts which are etched beer mugs. My mom and his are also getting necklaces from etsy (about $20 each) and my dad is getting a nice picture frame because there are four of us kids and he will use on his desk whatever picture of you you gave him last. That said picture of me is one from basketball in fifth grade and one from junior year of highschool SO I am looking forward to upgrading my picture hahaha My FI dad HATES presents so no extra present for him which he will love

I got them a picture frame that has two spots for pictures. On one side I put a picture from the wedding of DH and I with my parents, and on the other side, I put a nice letter thanking them for all they are to me and all that they did to help out for the wedding. I did one for DH’s parents too. It’s cheap but nice and sentimental.

Yeah no, we didn’t get the parents any gifts. We’ll do photobooks and some framed prints for them eventually, but I have codes for free books, so I don’t know that that really counts.

I say go with something personal – the intent behind it will mean so much more than anything you could possibly buy.

We did double frames with our invite in one side and an epic on the other and prints of “found” letters spelling each family’s last name.
