Here’s my story… This year me and FI agreed not to exchange gifts because we were saving for a house. We ended up not buying the house we liked for other reasons, but I still told him not to get me anything. And I didn’t get him anything. I’m not keen on spending a lot for the holidays, and he has a big family so we end up spending a lot on them every year. This year I bought all of their gifts and he paid for our holiday fesitvities, like dinner on x-mas eve and movies on x-mas day.
So, of course this fool goes and gets me a gift anyway! He got me new sneakers (purple, my favorite color) and the Beyonce CD! So here I am feeling kind of bad that I really didn’t get him anything. There’s a lot of things I could get….but I don’t want to spend a lot because I actually have been spending a lot on him recently (i.e. paying for a class he’s taking, paying more of the bills while he focuses on building his career, etc.).
Now it’s the day after Christmas, and I feel the need to run out and get him something. He could use new tank tops, boxers, and jeans. He also needs a new iPhone (his only works on speaker).
Regardless of my dilemma, what did you get your SO/FI/DH for Christmas?! It may give me some ideas 🙂

Two flannel shirts (US and Union made) and two henley shirts (also US made). A wide-mouth thermos and a tea kettle so he stops discoloring my stanless steel cookware when he brews tea!

@Reign14: I got him a pair of Levi Black Lable jeans, a ticket to see Lee Evans (British comedian) next year (we both love him), and then a stocking with his favourite sweets (candy?) and snacks, plus practical things (toiletries he likes, 8 pairs of boxers (nice ones) and socks).
He’s putting towards my new diamond pendant, and he got me a crap ton of my sweets, and made sure they’re all vegetarian. Sounds sad, but I was so chuffed with my sweets lol.

- Wedding: August 2013 - Rocky Mountains USA
A bunch of practical things I know he’s been wanting… wool long underwear (ski season is here!), a Wyoming state flag hat, a straight razor, undies. Nothing super special, but he was pysched that I remembered all the things he mentioned offhand. (Wife points!)

We agreed not to spend a lot of money this year, but as usual we didn’t listen to each other. I got him a whole bunch of tee shirts because he’s terrible and puts holes in everything he owns and I don’t think he had one left that was decent. I also got him a nifty airplane wooden wall art thingy, a bunch of reeses peanut butter cups, some cologne samples, the Mens Fitness issue with Daryl from the Walking Dead on the cover (so I can read it when he’s done ), and a $200 tattoo to start finishing his sleeve on his right arm.
He got me a whole bunch of English tea, a couple really nice Yankee candles, a suitcase scale, a couple of nifty elephant statues, a couple shirts, and an awesome pair of Frye shoes.

I got him a sparkling beverage maker. He’s excited to use it, and I suspect that we’re going to have A LOT of random carbonated drinks over the next week. He already has it in his head that he’s going to make carbonated coffee.
