We got our moms (different for each) from LuxeDeluxe on Etsy (I got my girls necklaces from there too) and pearl studs from a local shop. We also go them each a lovely jewerly box and had them engraved.
We got our dads a skeleton face (like see-through so you can see the gears, not an actual skeleton!) pocket watches. We got the back of the watch cases engraved.
What if you got them one of those digital photo frames and loaded your wwedding pics on it for them to have? I thought about doing that, but my parents already have one... I still may do it for Fi's parents.
We had a semi-desitation wedding near my family's cabin. So, for my parents we made them a collage of photos of the cabin over the years (from when I was little and it was basically a 2 room shack- to just before the wedding after several additions and some vinyl siding since they fixed it up for the wedding). They loved it and our guests loved seeing it change over the years.
For my in-laws we got a photo frame with room for 4 pictures. We put their wedding picture as well as both of their parents wedding pictures in it. In the remaining empty spot we put a "Coming Soon" note. After we got the pro-pics back we sent them our photo to put in the frame.
Also- for the mom's- instead of a coursage, we got them brooches (from this Etsy seller: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=25431) to match their dresses. We also got them hankies emrboidered with a saying, and our wedding date.
My FH and I commissioned mother's rings that hold his and my birthstone. They turned out BEAUTIFULLLYYYYYYYYY! We are at a loss for our dad's. We might be my dad a round of golf for the day of the wedding but his dad doesn't golf sooo we'll see.
i need help with this too! we have no idea what to give them.
actually, it would be great if we could give them their gifts AFTER the wedding, because then we would just frame a few beautiful pictures!
lreighard - where did you commission the rings from? Just a jewelry maker? Would you mind if I asked how much they were?

I'm trying to think of creative gift ideas for our parents and can't get any further than a blurb book with our engagement pictures. I'll be giving my mom and FMIL the same gift set as the bridesmaids are getting, and I suggested my fiance do the same for our dads (cufflinks). do you think we need a separate gift for our parents from the two of us?!
What did you give?
