If you are fortunate enough to receive money from guests at the wedding, what did you or do you plan to do with it?
We used our money to pay off some small debt DH had and towards a new mattress. Interested to see what others did. It obviously depends on how much you receive.

We paid off the reception.

Couch set for the livingroom (currently all we have is a futon), then savings account for a downpayment on a house.

We plan to use it to pay off any reception/honeymoon overages, and I’m hoping there’s a little extra to buy a china cabinet/buffet unit for our dining room.

We plan to also pay for reception and if we’re lucky enough to have left over, we’ll put it in the bank to start savings for baby 😀

We plan on getting new living room furniture! I hope we get enough to make a big dent in it. Right now I’m sitting in a forest green recliner…next to me sits a rust brown recliner….and my couch is a rainbow stripe of coral, shades of blue, teal and white. OMG…PLLLLEAASSEEEEEEE let me get enough money for new furniter LOL.

@furtureffcaptwife: Good luck… sounds like that would be a huge blessing. Ikea or Ashley furniture that all matches at least!

Our guest list is pretty large, and we didn’t register for much (have owned our home for almost 5 years and have everything) so I’m hoping that most people will do cash since they’re also traveling.
We’re delaying our honeymoon a few months b/c we’re getting married in Sept but are doing a ski honeymoon in Feb. I think we’ll use the money towards that, and we also plan to do some upgrades around the house. We want to renovate our master bath, change out the counter tops in the kitchen, and next spring have a pool installed.

We spent most of it on our honeymoon.
