We haven't registered for enough items!  I thought we were doing very well but we are at 70 with very little big ticket items.  (most seem to be less than 10, less than 20)

The woman that helped us said we should have around 200 items with 90 being under 50, 60 of our 70 items are under 50...I feel like this is impossible.

We registered for a few things after we got engaged( a lot of people asked.) We registered for whatever we needed! We didn't use that formula...we just kept the prices in mind! When we finish our registery we are putting the rest of our kitchen things, towels, possibly some sheets, camping equipment, board games and a new digitial camera! I think following that perfectly is too intense for wedding registering haha...I say just keep your guests in mind...but also register for what you really want!

ETA: Also, you DON'T have to register for 200 items!

The woman that helped us register at bed bath and beyond told is to register for 2 items per guest. I thought that was a lot but we don't have a thing since we both live at home with our parents. It kind of worked out.

We registered at BB&B today and she told us to scan double the amount of guests we are inviting. We just registered for regular home things, towels, kitchen gadgets..we already live together and have all we need. It was fun, scanning things that I'm always too cheap to buy myself. Little cake pop makers? OK!

@accorn: I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mean try fir about 100 items, but my husband's side of the family just sent us money, so we ended up with over half of our registry items left.
