We took traditional vows and then altered them to fit us...in order to add a little more personality, we also made declarations of love to each other before the vows--we wrote those ourselves. Here is the vow we wrote:
(NAME), today I take you as my lawfully wedded wife, and give myself to you as your husband. I promise from this day forward to be faithful to you, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I will love you, I will respect you, I will cherish you and keep you close to my heart, as long as we both shall live.
Good luck!
mine are still in the making... but i stole a good portion from various internet sites/blogs. here's a running copy - good luck!
You entered my life like a flash of lightning…
And the thunder had barely rumbled off
Before I fell deeply in love with you.
I love your dedication, creativity and strength.
I love the depth of feeling you have
For your family and friends.
I love you when it’s easy,
And when it’s hard.
When you’re difficult,
And when I’m difficult.
I love your fairness and understanding.
Your passion and your art.
I love that you look at the same world I do,
Yet see things I do not.
I love that you give me room to be who I am,
Even when you’re not sure it’s a good idea.
I love that you remain so kind,
In a world that can be so hard.
I know that I will always, always love you.
I want to make a family with you
That is the exception to the rule.
I want to fix every mistake
And make a million more
Always knowing that it’s you and me,
Together, no matter what.
I want us to be side by side
For as long as we’re lucky enough to live.
As time passes, I want you to remember,
Like a star my love for you will be constant,
Like the earth my love for will be firm.
FH,
Will you share my life and be my family;
Will you be my husband?
We are using traditional vows but are doing a letter exchange to each other before the wedding. That way we wont need to worry about any one else reading it and it can be as personal as we want just for us two to see.

Wedding is in 2 weeks and we have no vows. We can't even decide what we want to do. We originally wanted to writer our own, but then we're both going to be really shy I think so then we thought we could recite a poem to each other, or write vows together and have the officiant read them back to us. But I can't even start writing vows. I have no idea what to do! What did you use for vows? Can I see for inspiration??
