Great question - I am curious too. Still debating whether they are worth the cost.
I'm curious as well. I decided rather than pay someone to take them for me, that I would give him the gift of being able to do a budiour session of me. He's gotten into photography recently and I thought it would be fun. Plus I'd be a lot more comfortable with him taking the pictures rather than some photographer.
My husband hasn't done anything with them. I'm kind of afraid to let him take them when he travels for work since TSA checks our bags every time.
My fiance dones't have his yet since we are 7 weeks from the wedding date but I travel about half the month for work, so I'm hoping it might enhance our phone convos when I'm away :)
Errr...If I answered this question truthfully it may be inappropriate for public viewing
Let's just say he's privately enjoyed them on more than one occasion.
That's actually the reason we ultimatly decided against getting them done (that and I would just be to shy to get them done). Except for one or two weekend confrences a year we aren't really going to spend that much time apart so he'll always have the real thing right there. I think it makes a lot more sense if you travel apart more often.
My friend had a great idea, to print them in a magazine format, which I plan to do. Mr. SD hits the road a lot for work, and will be gone much more often than he'll be home this next year. So I thought it would be a fun way for him to enjoy them! I'm also making a digital gallery for his iphone, and we're going to print a few for the bedroom. Trust me, they're worth it! Photogs do so much with lighting, and props, and settings that you feel like a million bucks. You'll find ways to incorporate them here and there ;)
@sand dollar: Ohh I love that magazine idea, that was a good one!
Thanks for the responses ladies! Looks like it's a mixed bag - some guys er "use" them or at least look at them, some don't. Unfortunately I have a feeling mine would fall into the "don't" category. Bummer because I think it'd be a fun experience! Oh well, I guess I should be grateful it's a little money saved.
Mine are printed up in a book. Not sure how often Hubby looks at them but I've pulled them out a few times (once since I've been pregnant). If I had to do it over again I'd definitely do them. Like sand dollar said, photogs do great things. I love mine and while I don't, um, "use" them like some people mentioned their husbands do, I think I will enjoy reflecting back when I'm an old lady and admiring how great I looked when I was a young-ish whippersnapper. :)
I am sooo excited to get my boudoir photos done! One week! (I am definitely in heavy prep mode...working out every day, etc.) So at this point in time, since I haven't seen them yet and I don't know what he will do with them, I can still say I believe it will be worth the experience. To be honest, I have always had a secret fantasy of becoming a Victoria's Secret model or something like that. hahaha...Ya right! Anyway, this allows me to live out that dream AND do something fun/exciting for my soon-to-be hubby. Even if he never looks at them again, I know for me it will have been a huge self-esteem boost and totally worth it!
That said, my boudoir shoot is only costing me $50 and she is making me a book out of the pics included in that price, so for me, it is an incredibly awesome deal! However, when I first started researching photogs, I was prepared to pay in the $200-300 range. I know lots of girls on here pay more than that, but I am not sure if I would have done it having to pay that much more.
DIY is also an option here if you really don't want to spend the money, but want the experience.
:)
I am definitely one of those bees who shelled out a chunk of change but it was so worth it, not just for my FI but for me. I had such a blast doing them and brought my two besties with me. I never felt sexier or more beautiful. Looking at the pics, I think damn! I'll never look this good again-- so in 20 years, I'll have proof I was a hottie back in the day... and well if FI pulls them out and "enjoys" them, they'll be worth it then too ;) It was one awesome experience and would definitely do it again. Can't wait to see FI's face when he gets them! (well I won't physically see, but he'll be photographed! haha)
Nothing. But I'm glad I got them done. At least in 15 years and 3 kids deep I can look back and remember I had a decent body at one point!
Mine are in an album patiently waiting for our wedding night. I don't know for sure but my guess is that FI will be in the fap fap category.

Hi hive,
I'm just curious...I LOVE the idea of budoir pics, mostly because I think it'd be fun to get all dolled up and look sexy, and have that captured by a great photographer, whose skills would probably make me look even sexier. BUT I'm not sure doing budoir pics is worth the money. What do the guys do with them after the initial gifting and looking through them and everything? I mean, it's not exactly like you're going to hang half-nude pictures of yourself in the house, right? I know that's not something I'd want visitors to see! If you put them in an album, how often does your hubby really look at them? I just want to know if they actually end up getting shoved in a drawer somewhere and never really looked at.
I really want to get them done because I think it would be so much fun, but I'm just not sure I can justify the cost. After all, FI gets to see me in the nude and in my undies all the time anyway!
So, those of you who gave your guys budoir pics...how often do they really see the light of day? Do you think it was worth it?
