I ask because I just got back from the post office. I sent out maybe a little over half of my invitations today (finally!). While the guy didn’t have time to hand cancel them he said I could. But he gave me this huge stamp that’s about 1.5 inches high and maybe 4? Inches across. It was a big circle with the date and three bars going out on the right.
After I stamped them all, I was stuck standing there about another 10 minutes foolishly blowing on my envelopes and waving them about to try to get them to dry. (Oddly enough the part on the metallic envelopes dried quickly, the problem was the area on the stamps) I eventually just stacked them up and cut my losses (my lunch break was almost over), and I can’t help but thinking that I would have been better off just sending them through the machine. It might not have smeared so much on the backs of the other envelopes and I would still have half an hour of my life.
What was your experience with it?
