So, I was super excited when I was setting up our registry. I've been dying to have a nice set of everyday dinnerware. What we have now is one of these cheesy Corelle sets. They are super durable and great but it's 10+ years old and has stains all over them! I wanted big adult plates! Hehe.
We wanted something super simple and modern. No square for the real set because I want something that will last a bit so I'm afraid square will be out in 5 years. But I'm definitely registering for square serving platters etc.
This is the set we registered for (FI was picky!) from West Elm:

I love it because I wanted to register for individual pieces and not the whole set. We have more than enough coffee cups. I don't really need a set of coffee cups!
I love the simple organic shape.
What dinnerware set did you register for?
Haha, weird no one has responded! Must have gotten lost in a sea of posts :)
I haven't registered yet, but I absolutely love Denby!
I'm too busy hating you for posting West Elm. ;)
Sorry, I have a love affair with almost everything in that store. Unfortunately, no one attending our wedding (with the exception of one of my cousins, maybe) knows what West Elm even is.
We have not registered yet, but my favorite cake stand ever that I bought in December is Pottery Barn's Emma, which has matching dinnerware:

This is the dinnerware that we registered for from BB&B:
Colorwave Chocolate Dinnerware by Noritake
We registered for plain dinnerware too - Claire from C&B. We wanted something simple that will be ok for everyday dinnerware, but that can be dressed up for nice occasions. You don't see it in the picture, but it has thin lines carved in circles around the rim so it has a little texture. And we also just registered for the pieces we need, rather than a set.
@lilyfaith,
If it makes you feel any better we don't have a whole West Elm registry! Just a couple items here and there -namely the dinnerware set- on our online MyRegistry.
@dchopeful,
My thoughts exactly. Casual enough for everyday. Nice enough to dress up for holiday dinners. :)
VERY nice choices ladies!
I absolutely love white dinnerware. we love to cook and find that white dishes are just the simpliest when you want your focus to all be on the yummy food!
I also love bone china for everyday dinnerware. the most we can use it the better i figure!
We registered for Fusion White by Royal Doulton.
I like this from Pottery Barn. But i haven't registered for anything yet. Love the white!
Ouch, we registered for Corelle. . .I didn't think it was cheesy! :-) Actually we got a lot of compliments on it already (we got some at my shower). I think one of the bees registered for the same sets.
We didn't register for china, all our parents and grandparents said they never used theirs, and we'd have no place to put it anyway!
We did not register for fine china. Here is the everyday set that we registered for! It's noritake colorwave in blue! Friends of our who got married two years ago have this set and they love it!
@Brianalaura - we did corelle too for our everyday (photos above), and I've gotten more compliments on that than i have on our formalware!
@twalila the newer options have really nice patterns! Yours was actually my second favourite. I was surprised because a lot of my friends insisted they also want to get Corelle. I guess when you grow up in a house where you remember dropping plates and them not breaking, you want the same! :-)
We registered for fiestaware for everyday dinnerware (I already had a few sets). It's a tradition in my family... my mother, her mother & my great grandmother all used the fiestaware for everyday...

and Lenox Hannah Platinum for our formal china... I'm excited about it!

@ Brianalaura - when we bought our new house we invested in 12 place settings of the simple lines by corelle, it is awesome, so durable, and we always get complements on it when we make dinner for people.
We registered for Italian Countryside by Mikasa for our formal dinnerware.
It's been around for a long time. So I'm pretty sure it'll continue to be popular.
And then for the everyday dishes, FI picked out square ones from BBB.
I love plain white dinnerware, but Mr. S wouldn't let me get it! So I picked the china (Hannah Platinum, like @knikolle), and he picked the casual dishes.

We registered for these, from Mikasa. They seemed like a compromise between fine china ($$) and an everyday set. We didn't want to store two sets of dishes. And we also registered for some serving pieces from the Pottery Barn Emma collection.
The black set we just got as a shower gift and we'll use them for our everyday dinnerware... the second set I registered for @ BB&B and I'm hoping and praying that we get it because I LOVE it! :)
We use the plain white Corelle for everyday, and I don't care what anyone says we love it!
I love how lightweight and resistant it is. We did register for fine china too though, Precious Platinum by Royal Doulton:

We are doing Noritake Abbeyville for our fancy-ware. It has really pretty lace detailing all around the edge and platinum on the very edges. We haven't found a casual set that we like yet but I like the one you posted Gerbera.

We registered for Vietri! I have registered for everything including the bakeware, ect. The serving dishes, pitchers....We registered for the Basilico (Green) and they have a great Christmas collection in the white that I will get too.... LOVE IT!

No, no, no!
I didn't mean to say ALL Corelle dishes are cheesy! I swear I didn't. Our set IS! It's a super old one that is all scratched up and there are stains all over it for some reason that don't come off. It think it was his parents old dishes. So we have been together almost 10 years so the dishes are def 10+ years old. It was just time to "throw" out OUR old cheesy set.
The new Corelle stuff is actually really nice looking and modern! Our old old set right now has this blue flowery pattern that I really hate.
Sowwie!
@MsJellyfish - you are getting my fine china! We registered for Precious Platinum by Royal Doulton, too:

We got the cocoa and peridot accent plates:
Our casual dinnerwear is Sausalito from Pottery Barn - we're getting it in blanca (white), celery (green), and amber (yellow.):

Yay for plain dinnerware! We registered for the Dansk Classic Fjord dinnerware b/c we loved that it was simple and modern:

Unfortunately, it only comes as a set from Macy's, so we'll be getting the coffee mug too, even though we don't really need them...
@Gerbera - no worries! My comment wasn't directed at you specifically - I just know a lot of people look down on Corelle but whatever, it works! To each his own. Seriously no worries!
We registered for the Antique White collection by Mikasa at Macy's.

We did the black Colorwave Noritake with The Cellar in Paisley from Macy's as accents.
Fiesta ware!! we registered for almost all colors
i figure it will be really fun to mix and match
We chose the Noritake Colorwave in Chocolate. Can't wait to get new dishes, our stoneware is all chipped and yucky.

We currently have these

We only have 4 table settings so we registered for another set. We have had them for a year and have had no problems.
Kensington Pearl Bone China from Crate and Barrel http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=20&f=35868
It reminds me of the Kate Spade pattern I really loved at Macy's, but at a much more affordable price.
@Gerbera - I actually thought my friends would think Corelle was lame, but when I told them we were registering for it they were all "OH MY GOD I LOVE CORELLE!" Some of the older patterns are very dated though! That's weird that yours stained. I've heard some of their stoneware things stain.
Ours is from Japan (we often find loose pieces in Chinatown) and is called Blue Cherry Blossom. I love it so much! It is hard to find so instead of registering for it my mom gave us money to buy it.

We registered for two sets of this. I really wanted square plates. No china for us.
We waffled back and forth about china, but in the end realized we love wacky dinnerware so much as it is. So we registered for these fish dishes from Williams-Sonoma that we'd both been lusting after, to serve as our whatever (fancy or otherwise) dishes. We also have a few fun plates registered for at Fishs Eddy, a local NYC store with crazy patterns.
