Hello everyone! I love coming on here and reading about what everyone else is going through and experiencing, but most of you use abbreviations and I have no idea what they mean. I can’t even remember most of the abbreviations. This is my first pregnancy, and really my first “board” to be a part of, so I am just new to everything. Is there a list or could someone be so kind as to give me an idea of what people are talking about? The only examples I can really think of are DH and NT? If you know of any other common ones, please throw them my way! Thank you for everything!

@AlwaysLoverly: DH-dear hubby DD-dear daughter DS-dear son NTNP-not trying not planning BFP-big fat positive BFN-big fat negative TTC-trying to conceive I’m sorry I literally can’t think of any right now! Maybe someobe else will be more help!

Well I know that there are lists floating around here that detail all of the abbreviations. But to start, DH = Dear Husband, NT = Not trying.
A few others:
TTC – trying to conceive (pretty obvious)
BFP – big fat positive
BFN – big fat negative
CD – cycle day
NTNP – not trying not preventing.
I”m sure someone will chime in here shortly with the glossary!

I haven’t got a clue, but agree that the abbreviations are a bit out of control on the TTC threads.

NT or NTS–Nuchal translucency or nuchal translucency screening (a Downs marker)
AF– Aunt Flo
DPO–Days past ovulation
OPK– ovulation predictor kit
CD– Cycle Day
They take a little, but once you see them a few times it gets a LOT easier!

@Atalanta: The TTC abbreviations are nothing compared to the IVF and other fertility threads 🙂

What’s EW mean? I always just read that as “ewwww”. As in, “My discharge [or whatever] was ewwwww.” Ha!

@MeeShell: Oh silly me here I thought TTC threads covered everything from fertility issues to IVF.

@Atalanta: Oh they do touch on fertility issues but if you go into an actual thread for IVF and such other procedures the abbreviations are much more intense!

Most of these are what I have seen and had no clue about. Thank you everyone! And @Glasgowbound, thank you so much for the list!
