I was wondering the same thing. And if they're BMS do you get them something over the gift for being in the Wedding?
I need ideas too!
I was planning on getting the shower hostesses (some are bms, some are FI family) something (over the gift to the bms for being in the wedding) but am not sure what.
Any ideas appreciated!
My bridesmaids are hosting my shower, and I'm getting them shower stuff :-) I'm going to make them each their own sugar scrub for exfoliating and moisturizing, and then I'll probably buy some stuff from the Body Shop or some similar store...
@skibobrown: that's a cute idea. Shower gifts for throwing the shower. Maybe I will find out their favorites from Bath & Body and put together a basket.
Thanks for the idea!
Showering items is clever!
The only idea I have been bouncing around is personalized stationary.
I got my shower hostess a really nice bottle of wine to enjoy with her hubby, and a beautiful potted lilac flower in a cute pot. It wasn't very original, but it's something she really appreciated.
Hi gals! My bridal shower is going to be small I think, and it's in Vegas! Right after we're going to dinner and then having my bachelorette party. I was planning on using these gift bags:

Because they are cute, relatively inexpensive, and fun! Then I was going to put one "joke" gift in there, like a pair of fake grillz or Kanye West 80's shades. And then I was going to give them each something like this:

Since we're all going to be going out in the limo and drinking - we'll need to stay hydrated. I contemplated maybe a bracelet or something that matches the red color of my dress and then a special gift for my MOH and such during the rehersal dinner.
I'm getting my shower host a Helen Ficalora initial charm. My mom is hosting one for our fam and her friends, too, so I'm going to get her a combo wedding/shower TY present.
i'm baking them a sweet surprise with a cute home-made thank you card
I bought them a bottle of wine that is from the vineyards of the town where hubs & I met. I think wine is always a good choice :)
I got my idea from the Bee blog (can't remember whose).
Shower gel with a tag that says "Thank you for showering me with love"
Candle w/tag that says "Thank you for lighting up my day"
Candy w/tag that says "Thank you for being so sweet."

I love to sew so I made a needlepoint case for them to hold little things in their purse. I'm probably going to fill them with things like lipgloss, nail file, candy bar, maybe some yummy lotion. They are all different based on what I think they would like...here are some that I took photos of.
My shower hostesses will be my 4 bridesmaids, my mom, stepmom and FMIL so I've made 7 of these (plus one for myself!)

Forgot to add, yes, I'm getting them this in ADDITION to the gift for being in the wedding.
Because I had four different hostesses for my shower and my SIL also helped significantly I couldn't really get them anything big, (too many gifts to buy!) I bought each one a monogram mug with their initial on it and made them toffee.
We are getting married in Fredericksburg Texas where there is this cute Wildseed Farm that sells jams, sauces, etc. So I got Fredericksburg Peach Jam & Salsa to give to each of them, it is my mom's friends hosting the shower and they love food. For the lingerie shower I gave the BMs handpainted wine glasses with their names on it.
I have 4 hosts for my shower so I am getting them each a candle from bath and body works, a cute little umbrella, and some cute candies. I also got my sister a restaurant gift card since she is paying for everything and the other 3 are decorating and helping with games.
I have no idea who my shower hostesses are other than my sister..she refuses to let me know ANYTHING about the shower except that there are 9 people involved, so I decided since I can't personalize gifts for them, I'm going to make somesuper easy but so delicious oreo truffles myself and get some pretty boxes. Hopefully they'll all enjoy them.
@ marlew - same here! I know my MOH is planning it but I don't know if my FMIL and a few other friends are helping or not and she won't even tell me what day it is.
@marlew-- I know some people who would love those. Would you be interested in sharing the recipe?
I got some pretty wrapped bars of soap from T.J. Maxx and a really nice wash cloth. I am going to wrap it up in a cute way and leave a note saying, "I hope your next shower is as nice as mine!"
I got the quote idea from another bee, but I just took a different twist on the shower gel route. You can package some really cute things with a quick stop at T.J. Maxx/Marshalls/Homegoods.
will you bring the gifts for the hostesses to the shower, or send them/ drop them off afterwards?
@skibobrown and @vonne I love that idea of shower gel for the shower :) so cute!!!
I am hoping my shower isn't a surprise so I'll just give them their gifts at the same time (at the end when the guests leave).
I think making them something such as toffee or oreo truffles is a great idea and a great use of resources! I made oreo truffles as the favor for my sister's shower last year and it was a HUGE hit!
Oreo Truffles
Taken from Bakerella's website (http://www.bakerella.com/grocery-item-goes-gourmet/)
the way I do it:
1 pkg Oreos
1 pkg cream cheese softened to room temperature
any kind of chocolate - I use chocolate moulding wafers from the bulk food store
Crush the whole package of oreos in the food processer (or smash them in a ziploc until fine)
Mix together soft cream cheese with oreos until sticky but not goopy (I usually use rubber gloves and get my hands in there, works better than a spatula)
Roll them into little balls or other shapes (like hearts on the website). Chill them for a little bit so they don't fall apart when you dip them in the hot chocolate.
Melt chocolate / moulding wafters - I have found the best method, if you have one, is a mini crock pot. It keeps the chocolate warm.
Dip the truffles into the chocolate and place on wax paper to harden and chill in the fridge.
What I also like to do is get a second colour of the moulding wafers, melt them down and drizzle it on top. Voila!
Easiest treat for a potluck or girls night and totally yummy

I was wondering what you other bees were buying for your bridal shower hosts?
