I just started my new job and feel a little overwhelmed. I just don’t like the feeling of not knowing how things operate. I understand that it takes time to get used to change and get into the groove of things but I’m feeling really scared and overwhelmed. my family has told me that if I just give it time, I will learn it and get the hang of things. I’m just feeling discouraged and idk why.
I know that I need to keep trying my hardest and don’t give up. Encouragement would be nice. I don’t really need advice.

Jobs always feel like that at the beginning. Give ti 6 months, you’ll feel better.

Go to work with a smile, be friendly, don’t be afraid to ask how things work! New jobs are usually like that for few months anyway (if it was easy now, you’d be bored in a few months!). Eventually you’ll get the hang of it.

I hated my job for the first 6 weeks, I was poorly trained so when I was left on my own and finally realized I didn’t know what I didn’t know, my boss didn’t take to it kindly. It took some time to finally train myself essentially, but things are a lot better now. Give it time and you’ll be great – and if you want to look for another job, it’s better to do so while you still have one. Hang in there and good luck.

DH felt this way when he first started his job, and a level of this is normal. (He still doesn’t like his job, but I think that’s kind of a different thing.) Try to find a coworker you can talk to who can help you though and answer questions (and be nice and thankful back to him or her). If you can, ask your supervisor. Maybe write down your questions over several days and then see if you can schedule a meeting. HOpefully things will get better. just remember, having a job i better than not for pretty much everyone. You can always keep looking for something else if your discomfort continues.
best of luck!
