Since our hotel venue doesn’t supply an altar and I haven’t found a rental company that has a style I like, I decided to DIY my own alternative. Here’s my inspiration pic except my flowers will be white and there won’t be any aisle decor.
The vases I’ll be getting are 32″H x 6″D, but I’m at a loss as to what to fill the vases with. I think the limes in the pic are a great idea because they’re sturdy and they fill in a lot of volume, but the green in my wedding colors is an emerald shade and what the heck am I going to do with all those limes afterwards? I hate wasting food.
I looked into artifical loose moss and moss balls since they’re closer to an emerald shade, but it’s hard to calculate how much I would need and it’s expensive. Not to mention that they might be too light to weigh down the vase and anchor the branches. I also looked into vase filler beads since they seem to be the most practical, and using a styrofoam cylinder that’s 24″H x 4″D to insert into the vase to take up some volume so I won’t have to use as much filler. Now the problem is that I can’t seem to find filler in bulk, and even if I did, I wouldn’t know how much to buy.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
