@amanda90:  It sounds like you have a pretty high budget to spend on your girls! Do you want to do wedding-related gifts only or something more personal?  I’m a fan of doing a gift or two they can use for the wedding, and maybe something else more personal.  I was somewhat limited by my budget, but I’m happy with what I have for my ladies so far.

I have 7BMs and 1MOH, so my budget per girl was quite a bit lower.  I went with a quilted navy wristlet with their initials monogrammed on, I made each girl a pair of earrings and a glitter stem wine glass that I will eventually etch their initials into, and I also got each girl a chevron scarf (different colors depending upon their tastes). The wristlets can be used for the wedding if the girls want, and I want them to wear the earrings for the wedding too. I will probably put some wedding survival kit supplies in each wristlet, too (tissues, gum/breath mints, blotting paper, mini alcohol bottle). The wine glasses and scarves are for whenever!  I am also going to write each girl a note thanking her for her support and love!

@amanda90:

I wouldnt get them anything that has to do with the wedding. If there is any expectation that they will use it the day of the wedding or for pics, it`s more of a gift for you than them.

Its hard to make specific or personal  recommendations when we don't know your girls.

You don`t have to get them all the same thing. What are their interests or personalities?

One might like a gift certificate to a spa, whereas a sporty type might prefer a gift card for the local ski hill (depending on where you live).

Jewelry can be difficult as tastes vary widely.

I only had a MoH, but I got her a Coach clutch and makeup bag, and a gift card for her favorite store (she had just gotten a new job so needed more professional clothes). I also bought her a Kate Spade necklace which she wore for the wedding, but I’ve seen her wear it elsewhere too. 🙂

I have 6 girls in my party so like the pp my budget was a little lower.  I bought tote bags which I am decorating for them with their initials.  Inside I have a handpainted chevron picture frame, a handled mason jar with their names for drinking at the wedding, hand lotion and a few other things including a hand-made thank you card for being there for us on our big day.

I did a necklace (to wear on the wedding day, although all my girls loved them!) and a unique gift for each girl  (for example, Celtics yoga pants and flip flops for my sis, who’s a big fan).

@julies1949:  I totally agree.  As a recent bridesmaid we all got parasols, which we were then told we had to bring for photos.  Definitely did not feel like a token of appreciation.

$150 sounds high.  For that much they probably would have preferred you buy their dresses.  Just something like a cute bath bomb or some chocolates would be sweet.

@amanda90:  I had 5 BMs + MOH and i got each the same thing, a necklace with a silver initial charm from Tiffany’s. They were $125 each. I did not require them to wear them the day of the wedding but a few chose to do so.

I also paid for their hair, makeup, champagne, lunch, and limo transport day of the wedding.
