A microwave is very feasible for a registry, in my opinion.
Some more ideas:
GOOD knives, like Shun or Wusthof. They are worth the price!
Sheets with high thread count (minimum of 600).
Towels.
Home decor (vases, candlesticks, wall hangings, storage baskets, etc).
Card table and folding chairs.
Outside living stuff (hammock, picnic basket, grilling supplies, etc.)
Board games.
Along with everything that abbyful said I would add some outdoor patio furniture. I'm in the same boat as you and someone told me to add things that I wouldn't usually buy for myself. I don't know where you live, but do you like those fire-pits that sit off the ground? What about those heat lamps that are meant for outdoor use in cooler weather? I love those!
People can always use table linens. I like to change up the setting according to time of year.
I hope this helps!
When I was trying to figure this out, I googled to find a bunch of different "wedding registry" lists and I combed through them all and picked out items that we don't already have and things that we could use. You may have already done that, but it helped me out!
I agree with everyone else, but I would also try to spread the word that you are saving up for a new stove, or water heater, or whatever other big ticket items you are needing. If people ask you personally I would tell them that you are registered at wherever, but that you truly are saving for whatever. Also have family/friends spread the word to whoever asks them.
We actually didn't register but instead asked for Lowe's giftcards or said they could donate to us putting in a fence for our pups!
I couldn't imagine adding more stuff that we don't really need. We tried to register but we didn't need any of it... well a keurig but we bought that while there haha. After 3 years of living together I'm trying to get rid of stuff not add lol.

I'm SO blessed to have a great family and future families, I think when this wedding is all said and done I will probably have 5 showers and while I appreciate everyone thinking of me and FI, I am totally at a loss as to what to register for. I have a small list of a few things (like literally 10 things total), but really I've owned my own home for several years and FI has also lived on his own for some time so we have the basics covered. I know people say that this is the time to "upgrade" but even with that , other then new pots and pans I'm really pretty set in this area as well. What we really could use is LARGE items that I would feel completely guilty putting on a registry or cash which is also not appropriate either. Things like a new water heater, stove, and microwave. Maybe this is the practicle side of me coming out but we don't need any more "stuff" I'm at a complete loss PLEASE HELP!.
