One of my friends is getting married soon and neither their invite nor wesbite give any clues on what their attire expectations are.
Evening wedding with ceremony and reception at the same venue. That is pretty much all I know, and I feel stupid asking her.
I’m sure alot of people will be in cocktail dresses because it’s in the evening, but I know her family is very conservative and I don’t want to offend with the cocktail attire I have. On the other hand, the only really appropriate dresses I own are either floor length or super bubbly, childish sundresses.

Little black dress. Perfect for any evening occasion.
If everything you have is too revealing then it might be a good idea to get something a bit more conservative in black for more conservative functions like weddings and funerals.

though these days, you can wear that little green dress any color except white is acceptable.

Time to supplement your wardrobe with a little black dress.

LBD is always a safe choice. Check out the venue to see how fancy it is. The invitation should set the tone.

@MrsWBS: DIY invites with fancy script so I can’t tell :-/
@julies1949: @ajillity81: @beachbride1216: *facepalm* I do have a black dress that is quite fitted by knee length with a high neck. Thank you guys!

@badabing88: Dress up and dress conservatively if you are concerned with offending anyone. Can you put your feelers out to any of her BM’s, mom, cousin, aunt? Last thing you want to do is be the only one in sequins.

@s2bmrscook: The poodle dress is completely appropriate. Feminine, not too revealing… just make sure you have enough shoes.

yes i agree with LBD!! you can find a lot of cute and sexy ones that are still appropriate in length and cleavage :p

Do you know (or can find out) what the BM’s are wearing? If it’s strapless super short or long sleeve, high neck that will help give a clue. I know it’s old school, but I don’t like to wear black to weddings.
