Ok, sorry if it offends anyone on here because the two examples I'm going to give are both from here. I was just curious, what phrases or things do people say in day to day life that annoys you?

    1. When. people. write. things. with. all. the. periods. in-between. words.

    2. Ooohh I'll play! (After you ask a question they might like to answer)

    ...............just for fun;)

"I could care less." ....Nooooo, you couldn't care less. O.o

And using "seen" instead of "saw" and switching "borrow" and "loan" around.  Meh, I can tell my mom was a teacher, I'm a grammar freak.

panterapeach... it was really the term of last resort... as "little boy's room" is reserved for a different room in the house.

On these boards I guess its not what people say but more how they type things that bother me. I get so annoyed by posts in all capitals or super long posts that are just one large paragraph!

i cant stand when ppl cant b bothered 2 use real words & punctuation & have no idea where da shift key iz

THAT AND I REALLY HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE YELL AT ME.

Those are my two main pet peeves. I ignore them to a reasonable extent in chat or instant messaging, but on the boards, it's time to write like an adult.

    "Gifted"

God I hate that.   "Gave" people!  Gave! It literally makes me cringe like nails on a chalk board.

Sorry, I know EVERYONE on the internet uses this, it just totally drives me nuts for some reason.  Although I do lots of things others find annoying.  And I don't even feel bad about it.  Not. at. all.

    ;-)

It drives me insane when talking about maybe a place or thing and they don't catch the whole conversation so they say "Who?". Its not Who, its "What?"!!!

"That being said"....that phrase drives me insane. No particulate reason why. And people on here use it all the time. I just cringe and keep on reading.

And I hate when people talk about feet...vomit!

All text talk!  I have never typed in text talk.  I also hate the phrase "knee high to a grasshopper" and when everyone these days starts a sentence with "I mean"  I know alot of American's do this and it's catching on here.

Last but not least - Unnecessary noise!

    Phew. That's felt good :)

People calling me "honey." I can't STAND that pet name, it's so deprecating.

Also, "Boys will be boys." Code for "I'm using my sex as an excuse to act like a douche nozzle."

@panterapeach: Hahaha. I 100% agree! Even my fiance hates that phrase. He demands to know why the man only gets a cave, and the woman gets the rest of the house. So unfair. :P

Hehe, I'm definitely guilty of "that being said."

I HATE "anyways."  I see this so much, I'm not sure if people think it is correct, or if they are trying to use slang or what.

Ooh I just thought of something.  I hate the word "hella" it's just horrible.  One of my co-workers will say "hecka" which is even worse.

I can't stand it when people say 'love on.'  As in, 'I can't wait to go home and love on the baby!'  Also, the term 'besties' makes me want to gag.  :)

@lola2011: Ha ha.  Why do you say "Wait though" it is from my neck of the woods which is why I hate it because I hear it all the time and don't get why it's so widely used.

I notice improper grammar.  I correct it in my mind.  I was corrected constantly, even in front of others my whole life with my family- which was horrible!  I guess now it is a part of me.  What can you do?  I supose it has its perks.

Yeah. I guess that's true. I just mean, "your people" are to blame :) Like "my people" from California can be blamed for suich ditties as "like" every other, like, word, and also "hecka/hella" - which I agree - if you're going to say it, PLEASE say hella. It's the lesser of two evils in my book.

@panterapeach: drives me crazy! And so many people around here use it!

I thought of another! Preggo - it just sounds gross to me. She's pregnant, not "preggo".

And I'm sorry if I'm offending any bees who use "hot mess" or "preggo"...they both just grate on my nerves!

I also hate when people overuse acronyms. Like FWIW, or IMHO, or NWT (took me forever to figure that one out).

Got another one.  I don't mind preggers or preggo, but I hate it when people say "we" are pregnant or "we" are trying to get pregnant.  I'm wondering when this started.  I think things still work the same way an only one person gets pregnant :)

My FI has one that drives me NUTS. He's taken on the phrase "But for..." and uses it in almost every sentence. He usually picks a phrase and then uses it to death. I hope this one's time with us is almost done.

I also greatly dislike "text speak". I don't even use texting abbreviations IN my own text messages!

@dolce bella: That one is a good one! Because obviously whatever comes next is going to be offensive or upsetting.

In that same vein, I really dislike when someone says something mean or snarky and then ends with an "lol" or a smiley emoticon like that is supposed to make the mean comment ok.

I am unfortunately guilty of some of these! Embarassed I HATE when people use the word "mines" instead of mine.  It is terrible. As in, "I'm taking care of me and mines!"  Uggh!
