Our groomsmen wore modern style tux's, and we chose another tux in a vintage style for our two dads since they are older. The groom wore a third style of tux with tails. All tux's were black.

My dad wore a tux since he was walking me down the aisle. He wore a black vest and tie with it, though, and the groomsmen wore brown vests/ties; this set them apart and I think the black also helped my dad feel a little more dignified. My husband's dad didn't want to dress up that much, so we just let him wear a black suit. Worked out fine.
We have the groom, groomsmen, and dads all in the same tux, but with different colored vests/ties. The groomsmen are wearing red vests and ties, my groom is in an ivory vest and tie (why can't he wear white the day of too, we figured) and the dads are in charcoal vests/ties.
our dads are wearing tuxes since they own them and want an excuse to wear. groom's wearing a tux w/ waistcoat. i think it depends on what your groom is wearing.
our groomsmen wore brown tuxes, and I had my dad wear a tux of the same style but in black.

So we are having all the groomsmen wear grey suits and yellow ties. are the dad's suppose to match? or should the dad's wear something else? my FI and i are confused. should the dad's wear grey suits and black ties?
