Last week, I suggested in the ideas section that we have a Tall board and a Petite board added!

    http://ideas.weddingbee.com/topic/boards-for-tall-brides-and-petite-brides?replies=8#post-1947

I know when I first came to Weddingbee, I was super concerned with the issues my height posed, and couldn't find a whole lot of stuff on it! I made a thread, and there seemed to be a lot of other tall girls out there!

I know petite and tall brides face special issues when they're planning a wedding, especially clothing/shoe wise.

So, how about it ladies? Any interest in a Tall board or a Petite board?

I would love to have a petite board...and if there's a petite board there should be a tall board too!  I think being tall or petite definitely poses certain issues and challenges that we all have talked about and will still want to address in a specific board.

    Agreed.

Another option could possibly be a combined height board. I dunno if that would work, though. :p

I think a tall board is great! And I love the idea of a petite board, I just want to say that over here, petite is also used to describe weight (think size 0 model) so if there was an option I'd rather have separate boards for both. My MOH is petite (both height and size wise!) and it's proving to be super difficult to find something for her to wear to the wedding.

But it's totally a niche that needs to be filled and who better to cater to tall brides or petite brides than WeddingBee?

It also could help for tall/petite bridesmaid stuff, too!

I need to stop with my "yay height!" sign waving. :p

I voted 'neither' this morning, but I must have misread the poll, because I thought it said "Would you use these boards", not "Should we add these boards". Sorry Scissors - I think adding them is great, but I wouldn't use them. I'm average height and weight for the US. :)

I think they are a great idea.  I wouldn't use either of them since I'm middle height.

At 5'10... I would absolutely use the tall board and with two of my bridesmaids under 5 feet and less than a size zero, I would use the petite board too! It's odd how many concerns come up for people that don't fit into the "average build" department.

I'm petite, but I still think that most of the petite and tall issues concern the dress and that the dress category is a fine place for these posts... I feel like the segmenting based on specific qualities will eventually go too far (do I see a red-head board, leftie board, etc...) and there are already tons of categories.

    Just my opinion.

D'oh! I clicked "Tall Board" right away & didn't see that "both" was an option. I'm the loser that voted for a tall board and not a petite board (Sorry ladies!!)

I'm PRO BOTH boards! :) lol

I would think if you have to buy long/x-long jeans or short jeans in my case a petite wedding dress, that might classify you as one of the two categories. Just my opinion though.

Yeah, I am all for more boards that are useful, but I haven't seen many topics that would fit in either, so I'm not sure that a separate section would create for more topics?

I think the tall and petite boards are a great idea.  I'm tall and I have NWR issues like finding jeans/pants/dresses/etc. so those boards could help with those types of topics too!

Mr. Bee - There's already quite a bit of tall threads! I vote for both.  I need the tall board a lot more than i do my age board! There's so many things about being tall!

Yes!  I'm short and I've posted on several threads about girls trying to find dresses that flatter their height, the most recent one I can remember was about a trumpet dress for shorter brides.  I agree with the bridesmaids height too, scissors!

klp2010 - I didn't see too many words tagged with the word tall?

    http://boards.weddingbee.com/tags/tall

But if you could link to some tall-centric posts here, that'd be helpful!

What about a fashion board. It would cover non-wedding dress specific fashion. I.E. jeans, swimsuit issues, dresses for rehersal dinners and showers etc. I see these topics a lot but they are all over the place now. Dress board, Beehive, Lounge, Honeymoon to new a few places.

I would've loved a tall board!  I was going to vote for that, bc at least petite's sometimes just wear heels and it doesn't make as big of a difference, but I voted for both.   ;)

@MrBee I don't think a lot of them specifically mention height, but sometimes there are "low heel"/flats posts.  I know I'm jealous of all the gorgeous heels you ladies buy!

So far, I haven't been blown away by demand for a tall board!

Are there recent threads about tall brides that haven't been tagged with the word "tall"?  If so, drop a link and I'll add a tag so we can keep track!

    Yes Yes Yes!

I am so intimidated by dress shopping, because long dresses just look ridiculous on my 5' frame, and I know there are others out there that sympathize, because quite a few of the threads have popped up over time. I'd love to hear from more petite brides.

I voted neither. I don't think there's that much to talk about regarding being petite or tall that would require a special board.

wouldn't tall/short posts go under the overarching topic? like shoes or dress? Then people would chime in on each category? I just wouldn't want to see the boards to get too cluttered with ultra specific topics....

When I think petite I think of a woman that is short and slim. I wouldn't fit in either of those categories.

@FutureMrs.Taylor - lol! Not everyone does, but it certainly does present challenges to be especially petite or tall. Honestly, the only reason that I'm pushing for the petite/tall boards so much is because they don't apply to enough people to get much attention, and then those posts get lost and (understandably) no one ever thinks to search for petite tags unless they have a question.

@lilyfaith - Yea that's true. My bm/cousin is only 5'0 and the bridesmaid dress looks totally different on her because she's so short. All of her jeans also drag the ground lol
