Just the other night my husband and I went for standard dinner and movies. I would also say that picnics are a good idea, outdoor movies if they have those around you, in the summer going kayaking or some other type of water activity.

@rcac1208:  Are you near a waterfront? DH and I like to buy a coffee or icecream (depending on the weather) and go for a walk down by the lake in the evening after dinner

@rcac1208:  Last weekend we got a bottle of wine, some dark chocolate, cheese, french baguette, olives and truffled almonds and took it all in a basket to a nearby park. It was late evening, so we were the only people there. We ate and drank and relaxed. It was awesome.

@rcac1208:  We’ll do pretty much any of those, or even just make a nice dinner at home with a movie.

Our dates our typically dinner somewhere.  We play tennis/bowling/golf together but I don’t really consider those “dates”.

Date night in, we’ll cook a special meal together, get a nice wine and eat out of the balcony then maybe watch a movie or something. Date night out, we like to mix it up! We’ll take a cooking class together, go to a concert, go dancing, dinner and a movie, picnic by the beach. It’s tougher to manage with a child, but we love date nights! We try to do two out a month and maybe one in.

@rcac1208:  All of the above! Plus we love to do things like:

-take a picnic dinner (sometimes from the deli section of a good grocery store) to a park, and play catch with our baseball gloves afterwards

-eat dinner at home to save $, but go out for dessert at a fancy restaurant and get dressed up

-after dinner, take Scrabble or another game to a cafe and play games for a few hours

-cooking class (we took a group cooking class last Wednesday and it was so much fun!!)

-go for a long walk to explore a new neighborhood (we love looking at old houses in historic neighborhoods)

-work out together (I know it’s not for everyone, but we love to work out together, go for runs together, etc.)

-go to a rock climbing gym

All of the above for us.  We also go bowling, if there is a Top Golf in your area you should try it. We also go to a lot of festivals and concerts (free and paid).  We rent bikes sometimes and just explore dif parts of the city.

We mainly do dinner because I get home so late from work that we wouldn’t have time to go for a movie. We like to try out new places, or just go back to the places that we love. It’s a solid hour of just us time – no phones, no one else.

It’s usually dinner and the drive in. I hate going to the regular movies so going to the drive in is just great for us. It’s much cheaper, we can bring our own snacks/drinks, we can talk during the movie and don’t have to deal with annoying people stinkin up the movie.
