Oh man....I take Allegra-D 24 hour tablets. I also take Astelin and Nasonex nasal sprays. I really really have to take prescriptions. Mold is my #1 allergy, followed by pollen and stuff like that. I didmn't have them until i moved to Missouri. Stupid state =(
i'm sorry i don't have any recs off the top of my head, but do you have an allergist? i'm very allergic to dust mites and kept thinking that i had a permanent cold, but it turned out to be allergies. they put me on nasaqort, and it's been awesome. i bet they have something prescription strength for eyes as well. oh i'm sorry about that, so annoying!!
Claritin D 24 is the only OTC medicine that works for me. If what you are currently using doesn't work, perhaps you need to check with your dr to see if they can prescribe an alternative. It's possible that your system is so used to the medicine that it has grown immune to it.
I take Claratin and Sudafed separately because the dosage is higher on the decongestant than with Claratin-D alone. :) I really need to get better (non-student) insurance... I can't see a doctor when campus is closed unless I go to the emergency room, and I can't afford it. :(
I take regular Allegra. Allergra D was too much for me, dried me out bad. Funny how just a little different variety makes a big difference. But, in the past I have used Allerest over the counter. That seemed to help. Usually keeping my nose un-stuffed is the key, so I also use Afrin when I want to be able to sleep and breathe.
Yeah, I just asked Mr. Spaniel to bring home more antihistimines for me. :) Sometimes I just double up on the Claratin and it stops the watery eyes, but I have overpowered it this time. ;) Maybe some extra attacks from different angles will help!
yeah... i take zyrtec (the kind that makes you drowsy) every night and if its bad the next day ill pop another one. but when the weather changes my allergies suck and i cant do anything to fix it :(
i take allegra d and have an rx nasal spray, but otc saline spray works really well when i'm congested (aka every dang morning--stupid dust mites!), and laying down with an ice pack over my eyes/nose works wonders on my sinus headaches...

I've been having a nasty, nasty allergy attack for the last two days... I'm all hopped up (heehee) on Claratin and Sudafed, but my eyes won't stop watering and I can't stop sneezing (not to mention the sinus headaches!). What a NYE!
What do you fellow allergy-sufferers do when your symptoms go haywire? I was taking Flonase for the sinus pressure and it helped tremendously... but that's not my biggest gripe right now!
