OK so all my BMs sent me their measurements..most ended up being a bit too big..but one’s is way to small…she gained a little weight and it won’t zip up about 2-3 inches up the back!! What do I do? I can’t send it back unless the dress is defective? DO bridesmaids dresses typically have enough fabric to let out?

There will be some room to let the dress out, but not much. Maybe a dress size, but normally there isn’t that much slack to let the dress out without altering the shape. I would check with your tailor or maybe see if she wears some spanx if she can pull everything in.

Can you switch her dress with another one? The only other suggestions is to have it altered.

Well she has 2 months. Does she know the dress won’t fit? Because if it can only be let out so much…well, she kinda needs to lose a little weight or incur the cost of another dress. Both of which are really sucky to hear. But it’s kinda reality, too.
WORST case scenario, she can throw a bolero over it and somehow tie the back. But that’s not exactly ideal

I would tell her tactfully and respectfully to HIT THE GYM ASAP (unless she’s preggos… that’s another story).

She should be able to order extra fabric from the maker and the tailor can add the fabric the seams of the dress (kind of like a panel, I guess). If you’re dealing with a bridal salon, they should know how to do this since I’m sure it happens fairly often. This happened to a friend of mine who got pregnant after she ordered a dress, and also to her mom, who happened to be on a medication that made her gain a lot of weight.
