Hello Ladies. I realize that not everyone works M-F and some people work and go to school so you might not have two days off in a row but generally speaking, how do you spend your days off?
I have been an office gal for over 2 years now and I still stuggle with how to spend my weekends. There for a while I had very active weekends, visiting friends and family, going to the gym, running, house work, moutain biking going out to eat, etc. Since we moved I really feel like a lazy butt. I spend most of my weekends watching netflix and cleaning the house. Sometimes I walk to the park and people watch, go to the store, go biking, take a run or exercise in doors. Every once in a great while we will go to dinner or shopping or a movie. We live in Chicago so there are so many things to do…I feel like I am just kind of coasting through life… so I guess I am asking what everyone else does to either..
A. Confirm that everyone else spends most of their weekends being lazy so I should not feel bad
B. Confirm that I am too lazy and need to ramp up my schedule.

I am a relaxer on the weekend. I like to watch tv, relax, cook big meals. I am so busy during the week, why would I want a busy weekend!

I pretty much relax on the weekends, especially in the day, I’ve never been the type of person that likes to do a lot of running around. In the evenings I might hang out w/FH or my girlfriends.

When my husband is off we usually go do something- last week we drove up to the beach and had lunch at a restaurant on the sand. After, we did some grocery shopping and relaxed. When I’m alone for the weekend I usually putz around editing and clean. This weekend I’m preparing for my parents/IL’s visit- our washing machine just broke so I’m headed to the laundromat.

It depends on the weekend. This weekend we went out with friends on Friday, cleaned house, did laundry then went to a wedding on Saturday and today FI is playing video games and I’m taking a break from yard work. Tonight we’re grilling! Yum!

During the week, I am a preschool teacher, so my days are filled with non-stop craziness. Plus, with less than 3 weeks until the wedding, I am soo busy. On the weekends, I lounge around, sleep late, and go to the beach when I can. I usually make myself do less-fun wedding stuff during the week, so I can do the fun stuff on weekends when I take a break from being lazy 🙂

We are a bit of a mobile social life for our friends with babies! We quite often drive around to see friends and family and are lost when we have a weekend that isn’t “planned”. This weekend was a prime example – this morning I demanded that we went out somewhere because we had pretty much stayed in all day Saturday. We ended up walking around a lake and having a mini picnic!
The downside to all this running around – I rarely get the housework done!

I like to wake up and clean, take the dog on a nice walk, and then chill out reading a book or watching movies. Now that it’s getting warm out my fiance and I intend to spend most of our days off up in Tahoe, hiking with the dog. I usually don’t have to run around that much unless my fiance needs to go shopping (we only have one car because he travels so much for work) and will do all of my grocery shopping at 8 AM on Sunday mornings to avoid the crowds. It’s so much easier that way 🙂

Tidy up the house, errands, homework (grad school never ends, uh), and relax. We do go out to eat on Friday night.

Deep clean our apartment on one of our days. (Laundry/bedding/bathroom/kitchen). Grocery shopping before the crowds. Mani/Pedi every so often.
On my other day, my husband and I do something together. (Dinner/movies/pool/theme park)

I don’t work due to health reasons, so I’m usually pretty bored during the week days at home alone. So I love having an active weekend. We’re usually doing things with family. Friday we’ll go to dinner somewhere outside so the dog can join. Sat. is a weekly lunch with my grandma then we like to take the dog to the dog park. Today we went to my in laws and went to the pool and lunch with them. My poor husband gets worn out b/c he works and then I drag him all over the place all weekend!

@bestbuddies: i am glad i’m not the only one that feels this way! i’ve always felt like ive been ‘coasting’ through life by just bumming on my time off. i feel pressured or parinoid that everyone is having the time of their lives partying it up, and i’m just being left out. then i realized a lot of people just bum around too.
so to answer your question, my days off are exactly like yours. but i still feel a little sad sometimes wondering if my friends are just having fun without me and leaving me behind.. is that parinoid?? haha 🙁

We are complete bums on the weekend. FI usually plays video games. I read, take naps, cook…
