Well it’s about that time today and I am trying to figure out where to go for lunch… I would really like to start bringing lunch to work with me, but I never know what to bring… I’m tired of throwing away $10 a day on crappy food and I really need to start watching what I eat.
So I’m just fishing for ideas… what are some of the nice, healthy lunches you bring to work with you??

I had brought an apple but after reading the comfort food thread I went home and got some chicken noodle soup 🙂

welll this isn’t helpful because today is the last day I’m allowing myself to eat whatever I want because I start my diet/workout tomorrow!!! I’m going for an Indian buffet!!! bad bad bad.

Sometimes I bring 2 hardboiled eggs with a little mayo and ff sour cream to make egg salad and I use pretzels instead of bread. I also like the fat free greek yogurt with an orange, pretzels and baby carrots (only about $3 a day!) Progresso land campbells ight soups are good (but I do have to add a little salt as they can be on the bland side. I always have an apple for later in the afternoon.

I don’t work, and when I did I was boring and ate pb&j or ate whatever they had, we’d get free lunch.
Now since I’m home I eat whatever is left over from last nights dinner.

For lunch, I almost always eat soup. But sometimes that gets old, so if I have leftovers I’ll bring that in or make egg salad. But throughout the day I’m snacking on pretzels, fruit, yogurt, etc.

Lean cuisines every day I’m at work. They’re cheap, they’re easy, and I think they taste fabulous! I make sure to not eat much sodium throughout the rest of my diet though, since they have a good bit in them.

when i am doing low calories i buy lean cuisines… i usually find them on sale @ the markets sometimes for $2 a piece.
When im doing low carb i just make extra meat for leftovers and buy salad or veggies.

I work for a florist, so we have plenty of cooler space but no microwave. I bring a lot of veggies – raw carrots, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, etc. and dip because I am a big snacker. For lunch, I bring a lot of cheeses and deli meat, along with bread, and that lasts me a while. Pasta salad, fruit salads, etc.
At my old job we had a microwave, so I’d bring a lot of leftovers and frozen dishes to reheat.

We generally make enough dinner the night before to have leftovers. Otherwise, we buy stuff to make salads in the morning, sandwiches, etc. Sometimes I just eat yogurt and nuts. I hate going out for lunch too, it adds up so fast!

I bring a sandwich either boars head cracked pepper turkey with swiss or roast beef with provolone. mayyonaise all the way.

I almost always eat a half of turkey (or low sodium ham) sandwich on wheat bread with lettuce tomatoe and honey mustard, Lacey Finlandia Low Fat Swiss is only 1 point per slice (about 1 oz) and it’s sooo delicious. Then I have mini rice cakes or triscuits and a sugar free or fat free pudding cup or weight watchers brownie. Oh, and lots of carrots, celery and cucumbers dipped in homemade ranch dressing which can be fat free when you make it with ff sour cream! Yum!

I eat the same thing every single day:
– Whole wheat wrap or pita with Natural Selections oven roasted turkey breast, lettuce, pickle & avocado
– Than usually I have either carrot stick, celery stick or a small bowl of vegetable soup.
Doesn’t sound like a lot but it’s very good & filling

For lunch i like leftovers from dinners during the week, chicken salad or tuna on crackers, sandwhiches on wraps or flatbreads, michelinas lean gourmet frozen meals (only$ 1). Soup & 1/2 sandwhich is yummy too. For snacks i like to take fruit salad, or i cut pieces of cheese and assemble cheese & crackers at my desk. Sometimes i throw a slice of pepperoni on there too. 🙂

leeeeeeeeeeeeeeftooooooooovers lol. i had small portions of turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies today, yesterday it was salmon and a salad, day before a small burger – all homemade! i keep small cans of low sodium v8 in case i wont get enough veggies with what i bring (like with the burger). also fruit cups with pineapple & papaya and a little tupperware of greek yogurt sometimes – so much cheaper to get a big thing of it and fill up a cheap little tupperware! just make an extra portion of food at dinner, and you’re all good! i like the progresson chicken corn chowder and clam chowder too on days where i didn’t have leftovers and try to keep a couple back ups in my desk though i’m currently empty!
