What do you get your mother for Mother's Day?

My mom recently moved three hours away from me and we don’t visit very frequently due to conflicting work schedules (she works days, I work evenings), so I sent her a bouquet of flowers and a little box of chocolates with a card. I ordered everything online last month, and it’ll arrive at her home between the 8th and the 10th.

In the past, I’ve gotten her Amazon Kindle gift cards, specialty candles, gone out to dinner. I’ve actually never gotten her flowers for Mother’s Day before this year.

My family doesn’t really beat around the bush when it comes to gifts, we believe a gift should be something that the preson really wants.. not just what we think they want.

I always send her flowers, delivered to her work [she likes bragging to all the other mothers there about how much her daughter loves her], and I always ask her to pick out a gift. This year she has chosen some really expensive pet stairs for her dogs because they are too small to climb on her bed, so that is what I’ll get her. Every year is always something different ; one year she wanted a trip to the zoo, another was a fancy dinner on a cruise ship, ect.

For her birthday she always picks out a piece of jewelry she would like.

I’m taking her to a psychic medium show on Saturday. I’m also getting her a gift certificate to her favorite nursery so she can buy the flowers she’ll need for this years garden and taking her out to dinner on Sunday. My MIL is getting a GC to a swanky spa for a 90 minute massage, a floral arrangement and brunch. It’ll be an expensive day.

My mom was recently gifted a Pandora bracelet by a friend so I bought some charms for it.  The website was awful, I was able to put in a Canadian shipping address to have it sent right to her but then they called me two hours after I placed the order to tell me they don’t ship to Canada (so why have it as an available country to select on the shipping address?).  Now they have to ship it to me and I will have to send it to her so it will not make it on time.  Oh well, the thought that counts I suppose.

I just normally get her something I think she’ll like. Maybe a flower (live one, because she likes gardening) or one year i got her a little necklace that had a stanhope viewer in it. This year I am getting her a chromecast because I think she’d enjoy it.
