Me and my FI have an anniversary tradition before we were engaged.  Right after we were “official” I was given free tickets to go to the Nutcracker Ballet in Phoenix. We got all dressed up and went and had a great time.  So every year since then we splurge and buy very nice seats and get very dressed up and go for our anniversary(it is Dec 15).

Even though we will be married by the time December rolls around I think we will still keep our Nutcracker/anniversary tradition.

I am so not an anniversary/romantical person. I’m pretty sure last year it was a bottle of wine, flowers, and sex. And the wine and flowers were SO’s idea. I’m happy just going, “Oh hey, we’ve been together X amount of years! Yay!” and be done with it.

We go out to dinner and usually engage in extracurricular activities 😉 I’m hoping this August 27th will be a little extra special though!

we spend our dating anniversary in our special place where everything started. usually it’s just the two of us, but last year we invited our two best friends there for a bbq party. i wonder how it will be this year 😉

Sheesh, I can’t even remember what we did for our past two anniversaries.  September 5th will mark our 3rd right before the wedding.  We just try to make it as special as possible.  Nice dinner, quality time with each other, etc.  I definitely love how FI will shut down his computer for the entire day to spend it with me.  He plays FFXI often on it so it really means a lot.  Plus I’m always on here so he must appreciate it as well!

um lets see usually its just dinner where i might actually decide to put on makeup and something other then a tshirt or sneakers… and then we go home – get drunk and have sex. thats about it. I’m more into gifts then he is – usually i have to remind him to get me a card and then he still doesn’t. Actually he’s much better with anniversaries then valentines day.We used to always go away before we moved intogether. But now that we don’t need a hotel room to be alone – we save the money.

August 28th is our 4 year and being that its the last dating anniversary before we’re married i want to do something special (even though we’re still gonna celebrate after we’re married)

The first two years we did a 3 day cruise… super fun! but now that we can’t really afford a big vacation for an anniversary we just do dinner. We will be together 6 years this year but i’m pretty sure i’ll be engaged by then 🙂

@shunduh:  That is an awesome idea! I don’t know about a whole month, but definetly two weeks would be amazing. I don’t see being able to take off a month but I’m looking into that. Thanks for the idea!

We alternate who plans every year – I plan odd numbered anniversaries, he gets the evens. We always just go out to dinner somewhere – sometimes we exchange gifts, sometimes we don’t.

So the first year (my choice) we went to The Melting Pot (we were in college so it was super extravagent), the next year we went to Texas Roadhouse (his), our third dating anniversary we went to a really nice local resturant, and then to a chocolate bar (basically a desserts and cocktails only resturant). Last year we went to a nice local resturant on the block we had just moved to. This year it’s my choice – I’m thinking either a steakhouse or back to The Melting Pot – a pot of cheese sounds really good!

We just had our 5th anniversary, but we also got engaged a little more than a month ago, so we didn’t do anything. It kind of makes me sad in a way. But hey, we’ll be married soon, so the anniversaries start all over again!

Our 2 year Anniversary is 27 May 2013 – We usually just go for a meal and the cinema.

We celebrate each month together in the same way. Every month together is a milestone.
