@KIKI25:  First time mom as well, and I can’t comment on your strollers since I did something different, but bottles I was told to maybe go with two different kinds in case the baby rejects the one you pick. My doctor recommends Avent, so I registered for Avent but I also got Dr. Browns as well, so we will see which he likes better. I wouldn’t do a ton of either until you find out what works. Some Bees say their babies had no problems with nipples, but I just found the idea of having two different ones really smart just in case, especially since I live in an area that doesn’t have a 24 hour Walmart or somewhere I can go in case of an emergency.

Lotions I registered for Aveeno. I asked about baby lotions on the Bee, and a lot of people recommended ones I couldn’t find in my area, so I just chose Aveeno since it was fragrance free. Most everything I did fragrance free right off the bat.

Good luck! Registering is fun and stressful all at the same time because you want to make sure to get the best everyting for your little one, , and then, if you’re like me, you end up actually going to register and you stop caring as much because your feet are aching and the aisles are too cramped lol.

Are you planning on breastfeeding as well as bottle feeding? If so, I’d recommend the Tommee Tippee bottles. They have super wide tops, so the baby latches onto them in a very similar way to how they latch onto the breast. They are also very easy for baby to learn to hold onto themselves. My sister used these, and I use them as well, and I LOVE them. They were recommended to us by a lactation consultant.

We have the chicco key fit and we like it a lot. I dont know anything about the britax though.

As for bottles, I breast feed and bottle feed and we use the Avent newborn bottles. We tried the natural flow but he spits it all out so we use the classic. He has never had any confusion between breast, bottle, etc.

We went with brittax. We went to the store and tested out strollers and the bagile felt the most sturdy while still being lightweight and easy to steer. DH didn’t like the adjustable handles on the chicco strollers. He also had a thing about tires… I didn’t really care so he got his way 🙂

I ordered playtex bottles I think… They work with breastmilk storage bags to make life easy on me. I did some research online before placing the order but I am more than willing to switch if she doesnt take to them once she arrives.

my baby isn’t here yet, but a mom friend told me to try a simpler bottle first since they are easier to clean and prepare. so,e bottles have several different parts which make cleaning more work.

For the carseat/stroller, we are going with the britax bsafe and the baby jogger city mini gt. it is a heavier stroller, but it steers well and we don’t kick it when we walk (We are tall).

@KIKI25:  I wanted the Britax but it didn’t fit our car…. We tried the Chicco and it was smaller so it fit… After doing some research it turned out that it has slightly better safety ratings and is comparable in price so I didn’t feel bad about the choice…

we got the liteway plus stroller to go with it, it’s pretty awesome… I would suggest checking them both out at Babies r us and seeing what fits your car…

@iarebridezilla:  +1   Love our Tommee Tippee bottles.

And we have the chicco key fit stroller/carseat and we love it.  Easy to fold and lift, and all clicks into place easily.  but I’ve heard good things about Britax too

We got the Britax B Agile stroller w/ B Safe car seat and I LOVE it. It’s super light, easy to maneuver, easy to fold and store. I also really liked the B Ready but it was just a bit more $.

We bought a ton of the Avent bottles but they gave our LO lots of tummy troubles/gas/spit up. We switched to the Playtex Ventaire and love them – they made a huge difference. Just make sure you get the slow flow nipples for little ones. We are only moving up to a med flow nipple now and he’s almost 4 months.

Hope this helps!

We have the Britax B Agile/B Safe travel system and I LOVE it.  Stroller is super light and collapses easily.  Infant seat isn’t too clunky.

We also are starting out with Avent, but your baby is going to be the one to tell you which is best.  They either take it or they don’t.  I won’t be using bottles at all until nursing is well-established, but there’s a good chance that it will require experimentation.
Aveeno and Aquaphor ointment were both recommended in our baby class.  Not lotion.
