I don't really watch a whole ton of TV, instead I watch it all on the internet and on dvd. haha. Most of the shows I like have had only one season runs, so I tend to watch them over again dreaming what could have been...
Jpod: Only one season produced based on the book by Douglas Coupland, A group of video game developers/artists working in a basement in Vancouver and all the crazy stuff they get upto.
This Hour Has 22 Minutes: this series features satirical sketches of the weekly news and Canadian political events. Hilarious stuff.
The Rick Mercer Report: Basically a camera follows comedian Rick Mercer around as he does weird and hilarious things across canada. Also features the "famous" rants he is known to do.
Kids in the Hall/Death Comes to Town: I am a huge Kids in the Hall fan and own 2 out of the 5 dvds of their show they put out (I would have more but they are so damn expensive) and when I found out they were making a new show "Death Comes to Town" well....how could I not love it!
Futurama: Love, love, love. So happy they finally are getting a new season going.
Simpsons (pre-1999): Classic Simpsons. Enough said.
The Black Adder: Such a good show. The series follows the exploits of Richard IV's unfavoured second son Edmund (who calls himself "The Black Adder") in his various attempts to increase his standing with his father and in the final episode his quest to overthrow him. *and yes, I totally stole that from wiki*
Robson Arms: Set in Vancouver, this show follows the lives of everyone who lives in the apartment building called Robson Arms. This show has made me laugh, cry, terrified and sick to my stomach. Such a work of art.
Freaks and Geeks: If you have never heard of this show, go and watch it now. Cannot believe it only got one season (well I can, because it was just TOO good).
Cake Boss: Screaming Italians and cake. What isn't there to love.
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations: Traveling, Food and a misanthropic host. Really, can't go wrong.
Hahaha, and the food network. The entire network.
This got wayyy longer than I expected. I am such a nerd. hahah.
My favorites are:
-Gilmore Girls
-Nip/Tuck
-Bones
-Smallville
-Law & Order: SVU
-Supernatural
-Friends
-Any reality show on VH1 or MTV basically
I don't watch a whole lot of tv, I prefer to read. However, I love NCIS, The Office, House, and Judge Judy (that show is such entertaining entertainment :-P)
isn't it funny that we all seem to watch programs from our own countries!
@vicarswifeintraining: Very interesting! I have never heard of the shows you mentioned! Maybe they are on Netflix though.
@MissAsB: Yeah do. I know you can find miss marple's (the new ones), dinnerladies and the Royle family on youtube. and clips of waterloo rd on youtube.I'd love to know what you think!
@sceeder: We watched the entirety of Freaks and Geeks in about 2 weeks this winter! It was really good.
@MissAsB: GG and Friends are old favorites for me. I've been a little obsessed with SVU lately since we got Netflix again and they're all on Instant Watch! I love Elliot and Olivia. I'm convinced they're secretly in love. :D
@vicarswifeintraining: I was just talking with a friend today who was telling me about her favorite UK shows, especially game shows. She was saying they're hilarious. I might try to youtube some!
ETA: Oh, and the only other show I watch that's current is 30 Rock. So funny.
@sceeder: Totally off topic but I'm geeking out over your wedding date. Everything divisible by 6! Whee!
My fave TV shows are:
The Office (US)
True Blood
30 Rock
Parks and Rec
Mad Men
True Blood
Dexter
Hung
MadMen
Nancy Grace - don't know why
Dateline/2020/48 hours Mystery etc.
Guiltiest of pleasures: General Hospital!
I love 3 shows that are from the UK, which I watched on Youtube or Hulu:
Spaced!!!! I can't believe there are only 2 seasons! I was so sad when I finished the 2nd one.
Peep Show: I love this show too! I relate to Mark Corrigan. I have spent many hours laughing over this show.
The Book Group: Somehow I got really into this show, and was sad to see that it only had two seasons! It wasn't as funny as the other two but I liked the characters and format.
And the shows I like from my home country are:
Mad Men
Party Down
Arrested Development
30 Rock
Parks & Recreation
Parenthood
I don't have cable so I have watched some of these on DVD and on the internet. I have a very boring desk job so I actually watch more TV at work than at home!
@chocolatemalt: Arrested Development is awesome. I still hold out hope for a movie, even though I know it is never going to happen :(
The Real World- at this point its out of loyalty- I remember watching the very first season!
Any type of evening magazine- Dateline/20-20, you name it!
The Amazing Race- I wish I could be on it...
Deadliest Catch- FI got me hooked....
So You Think You Can Dance- I was once a dancer!
and Lost was the only non-reality tv show I used to watch- but now I need a new one!!!
@jduck84: Haha I think they are secretly in love too!
I love Miss Marple! I'm actually on a UK tv kick tonight here in the States... Miss Marple, Keeping Up Appearances, As Time Goes By, The Vicar of Dibley (my favorite!), and The Kumars at No. 42.

& a nod to the British - Ab Fab!
@vicarswifeintraining: ahhaha I just finished watching an episode of Miss Marple on the ABC (Australian version of BBC), I like Miss Marple better than Poirot.
And...DR WHO!! I'm very sad that the season has finished and I'll have to wait until December for the Christmas special. Are there any Dr fans in the hive? What are your thoughts on Matt Smith?? I miss David Tennant :'(
It's funny you mention the Royale Family, I remember watching that years ago. It's so uncomfortably hilarious.
QI is also hilarious, it's British show hosted by Stephen Fry. I love Alan Davies :D
My all-time favorite is Gilmore Girls.
My currents faves (still on) are Bones, the Mentalist, Chelsea Lately, and True Blood.
ETA: @so_said_ellie - I love Stephen Fry!
@so_said_ellie: you have a massive dr who fan right here!!!!!
I love it, my FI is a huge fan too, I like matt smith but not as much as david tenant - david tenant was just sooooooo wonderful! I should have put that on my list really, and I prefer Miss Marple to Poirot too, although if you ever see the poirot called "Evil Under The Sun" the island they are on, where it's filmed and set thats where we're going on our honeymoon!!!!
@so_said_ellie: oH and I love QI too - I'm constantly spouting random facts I learnt on there to my friends and patients :)
@AlmostMrsG: Ahhhhh keeping up appearances, I'm a nurse so the funny hours I sometimes work mean I end up watching all manner of odd things on UKTV GOLD at 3 in the morning, or 2 in the afternoon

Last night I was home alone, so I watched the news, then Doc Martin, The Bill and then Midsomer. Then tonight I snuggled up on the couch for some BBC bonnet drama :D
@simpleandchic: oh the inbetweeners is fantastic - noting so eventful happened when I was in sixthform however :(
@so_said_ellie: haha - I love midsummer murders! - apparently there's a thing in TV and books called cabot cove syndrome, which is an un naturally high death rate in a very small area, it applies to St Mary Mead for miss marple and the village of midsummer.

Waterloo Road: Drama about a northern high school - lots of drama and good looking 18 year olds!!
The Royle family: 1990's comedy about an northern family who just watch telly all the time - they just remind me of my family!
dinnerladies: 1990's comedy about a group of women (and a few men) in the north who work in a factory canteen. - remind me about my days working part time in university.
Miss Marple: Agatha Christie's elderly spinster detective - I love it!! - my favorite is Murder at the vicarage
