Apparently, our minister neglected to put the county in which we were married on our wedding paperwork, and they called me today (a MONTH) after the wedding) to say that our wedding won’t be valid until this gets changed. What goverment office calls ON A FRIDAY to tell you something like this?????
Hilariously, this was the day that I was at the house til noon, left for three hours but managed not to look at the blinking message light until 5:10.
Monday it is then.

That’s kind of funny in a I can’t believe the minister f-ed that up sort of way. Maybe this will make you feel better – my friend married a guy who is an identical twin and the groom’s twin was an altar boy at the church they married in, so the priest ended up putting the groom’s BROTHER’S name on the paperwork! It was just a church document and not a legal one, but still. Cracks me up still.

That’s awful! I would think that ministers would know to fill them out properly!
I will make sure to watch like a hawk to see what ours fills out. Hopefully it all gets corrected next week!

Guess your pastor was tired that day!
That stinks. Hopefully you can get it all worked out on Monday, but until then, I guess you’re still single? LOL.

My mom’s doctor signed my birth certificate a year before I was actually born! I have a feeling this happens way more frequently than any of us would guess. Glad they caught it now though.

Yikes, that kinda freaks me out! At least… I dunno, at least he called you? That’s still a pain.

My fiance’s brother found out like 8 years later that the person who married them was not really authorized to do it and that their marriage wasn’t valid!! They took it in stride and had ANOTHER wedding!! lol she got to get a new dress!!!! so that was a plus.

Oh, WOW, lol.
I hope you weren’t waiting to have sex until you were married, cuz otherwise, OOPS!!!!
Things happen! At least you’re going with the flow =]

it literally took 2 minutes to fix, and most of that was them trying to figure out how to spell my maiden name! Still amazed it took them almost a month after the wedding to call to get this done!

I’m glad to hear that it was fixed! Did they still use your real wedding date on the document?

I think I held my breath until the county sent back our certified certificate! I was so nervous that something would go wrong! Thank goodness we checked it over before we signed it on our wedding day!

@eva – Wedding date didn’t change, it is just going to take them another two weeks to process the license. good thing I didn’t start any of the steps to change my name!!
