I currently only have Internet but I was looking into getting cable as well (where I live, I can’t get ANY TV, even network stations, without cable, and Charter is the only service option). I pay $34.95 a month for Internet. I know that’s average around here, even a decent price, but I have no idea how that compares to elsewhere. I looked into adding cable… it would be $44.95 more per month! I’d be paying almost $80 a month for both! That’s a lot higher than I expected but maybe I was being unrealistic… is this a normal price for cable?
Maybe this is even low for some of you big-city Bees, I don’t know, lol. I’d love to hear from anyone though, no matter where you live. If you’re willing to say what state you live in and how big your city is that might be helpful too.

We pay about $85, but we have HBO,Starz and two digital boxes.

I have super fast internet and digital cable (HD/DVR, showtime and 3 boxes) and it is $208 per month
FWIW, I live in a big city.

@tksjewelry: Ugh, except mine wouldn’t have any of those extras, and it would only be one digital box 🙁
@panterapeach: Okay, well I feel slightly better, lol. I’m not entirely sure what the actual difference would be though, since I have average speed internet and would just get plain cable, no DVR or any of the movie stuff.

We don’t pay anything because we cut the cord, so-to-speak. We have our internet through a business plan, so it wasn’t connected to our cable bill. For one box, we were paying about $100/month for all of the pretty standard stations (no HBO, Starz, etc.) and the HD package. When unemployment because a serious risk, we cut the cord for the cable portion and haven’t looked back. We got a Netflix subscription, and now we’re enjoying that.

I have Verizon Fios. We have the highest speed for internet, multi room DVR, a second box for bedroom HBO, and Showtime. Our monthly bill is about $124. Comcast wanted to charge me about $160+ a month.

$5.68 for basic cable 🙂
We were paying $100+ for cable + internet, but decided it wasn’t worth it so we went down to basic cable and watch other shows through the internet. no regrets yet!

We have comcast and yesterday our bill was $179. We don’t have HBO, Starz or any of those…just DVR and one high-def box. I actually have it on my to-do list to chat with them to lower the price to $120…
I’d kill for $85!!!! We’re looking into Fios and I’m also not against getting a satellite dish for Direct TV as I’ve seen it work really well…

That sounds about right. We have Charter also and pay $117/month including taxes for internet and cable. We dont got the cheapest package with History, TLC, HGTV, Discovery ch, but we dont have any of the premium channels. It could probably be a little less, but those are the only channels I really watch so any cable with out those would be pointless. Edit: that also includes the $15/month they charge for DVR.

We have high speed cable internet and a digital cable box and I think ours is about $140 from Time Warner.

I pay $99 a month for high speed internet and HD cable from Comcast. No HBO or any of those channels and no DVR. I would have no problem getting rid of cable if I would watch sports live online.

approx $130 with WOW. Highest speed internet and more channels than we need.

We pay around $100 per month for HD cable with 3 premium channels (HBO, Showtime & I think Starz) and Road Runner turbo. We have TiVo so we don’t have any cable boxes from the cable company but we pay an extra $15 p/month for that service.

Our bill was $65 or so for cable + internet, and it’s crept up to almost $80… I need to look at it and see what they’ve done. I hate the cable company so much. That’s for pretty basic cable, no premium channels or anything, and no DVR (we pay TiVo separately).

$186 for Cable + Internet. We have two DVR boxes and HBO but I’m pretty sure we’re still overpaying. I’m switching to FIOS the minute they wire for internet in my area.
