Well, we're having a "destination" wedding in Las Vegas... and the only thing I have planned currently is to take our parents & my grandmother to see the Cirque du Soleil show LOVE. Other than that... I don't want to make a whole lot of plans. Of course, I have 6.5 months to go still... so I could completely change my mind as time gets closer!
I didn't really do anything on the day before the wedding other than drive to the hotel (3 hours away from my parents' house, where we had been staying), have a short rehearsal, and a little bit of socializing with the guests and bridal party, since everyone arrived that day too (destination wedding).
One thing I had forgotten to do though was to paint my nails. I ended up doing that alone in my hotel room at 10pm the night before the wedding. Made a huge mess (I've never been good at painting nails without making a mess), had to use a blow-dryer to help the process along, and went to sleep past midnight! So my recommendation is to get your nails done early! :)
hmmm i guess i'm not sure just yet ( i've gots plenty of time
) but i think i want to keep it very low key... just relaxing, maybe get nails done with the BMs, and go the rehearsal :)
Rehearsal dinner, probably get my nails done and check on the venue!!
I think we'll be taking the bridal party out to dinner most likely and maybe my family (no formal rehearsal dinner as far as I know). Maybe a few last minute details to drop off at the site and that sort of thing and if we're making food ahead of time we'll be doing that. Other than that, probably calling vendors and whatnot to confirm the times.
Hi Veronica! You're getting close, girl!
The day before, I'm going to the SF flower market with my cousin (who's a florist) to pick out our flowers!! Then.. we're going to make bouquets. I'm hoping to get my mani pedi on the Thursday before the big day.
I think I'll get my nails done with my mom for a little R&R and leave most of the day open for anything last minute that comes up. In the late afternoon we'll head over to the site for the rehearsal, then the rehearsal dinner.
This is my plan for tomorrow...
Wake up and finish doing my buttloads of laundry (we have a million girls staying at my place tomorrow night so I need all clean towels, blankies and sheets)
Shower...
Two of my BMs are coming over and we're going to bake and set up all the funsies for the sleepover. (Snacks, mani and pedi stuff galore, and facial supplies)
Rehearsal from 5:30-6 @ the venue
Dinner from 6-7:30ish at my favorite mexican restaurant.
Then we're off the my place for lingerie/bacherorette fun!! :)
I'm SO excited :)
@Bella13 - I have loved reading your posts these past few days--your exhuberance is infectious! You've gotten me excited for my own final days before the wedding and got me thinking maybe it won't be totally stressful. Thank you!
Congratulations in advance and have a wonderful weekend!
I totally agree with Vonnegurl...I love how excited you are Bella!! I am excited for your wedding now! Have a great weekend and enjoy it!
Ours was a destination wedding and I really enjoyed our time before the wedding. We arrived Thurs night. On Fri morning, then-FI and his GM and my BM who were there with us went into town to do a few things. I went and got my nails done :) My sister and a few others arrived at lunchtime so we checked into our awesome chalet and all went out to lunch together at a distillery - delicious food AND schnapps tasting! Then back to the venue for our rehearsal which was followed by an early BBQ dinner and back to the chalet for wine, cookies, and "The Bodyguard" on TV. In the morning we ate together then I went to the day spa for an hour and a half while they did who knows what. I had a champagne-bubble bath followed by a full-body exfoliation. THIS IS MY TOP RECOMMENDATION. I was like a rag doll after that, I was *so* relaxed. Everyone who saw me before the ceremony commented on how happy and relaxed I was. The time to myself to feel pampered and think about the day and what it meant to me was absolutely invaluable and I'd highly recommend it.
@vonnegirl and @Miss Britt- you girls are so sweet! I really am SO excited. I got a little stressed this afternoon, but my man always calms me down by asking "what will stressing about this do for you in the long run?" and I realize... nothing! So I try and just go on my merry way. haha I'm so happy I was able to share in all of my planning and final moments with all of you bees
@verosara- you're just two short weeks after me! yayy! Isn't it the best feeling ever?! I think I may be bummed on monday when I have to return to my normal life. SOO I'll just have to live vicariously through you and all of the other bees with weddings coming up :)
@Bella13 I know it's coming up so fast! But I gotta agree with the rest of the bees, you sound so excited and happy! Your get together sounds like so much fun! Hope you have a great time and please recap with all of us. Best wishes!
I'm still a worry wart, hopefully it goes away soon, I feel like I'm still behind and that I'll forget something.
@verosara- I am excited and happy :) So excited in fact that I can't even sleep!!! If you need help/advice/support/whatever I'll be back on Monday! (our honeymoon isn't until may)
Thanks Bella13, that's very sweet, and will prob take you up on that. We're going on our honeymoon later too. So glad to hear that everything is going good. Enjoy your weekend!
The day before the wedding will be the rehearsal dinner and as much as I'd love to celebrate the new year with my friends and my sweetie. It's early to bed because Jan 1 I'll be up really early (think 5 or earlier). I've got to get my hair make up done, go to the reception hall and hang decor (blah- this is what I get for not trusting anyone else with our vision), then photos, and my 6BMs & family will be getting their hair and make up done... basically my wedding day won't be calm and precise till about 5minutes before I walk down the aisle. Oh well. The day before we'll probably decorate the church, just a guess, before the rehearsal. It'll be a busy two days, but I don't care, it'll be over too soon.
I plan on resting whenever i can however there will be a few jobs such as dropping things off at the venue etc however the best man is also taking the day off so im hoping he will be able to do this giving me enough time to rest and get my nails done!!
Friday
Slept in ~ 10am
Rehearsal 11am-12pm
Indian Buffet Lunch with people who could make it 1230-2pm
pedicures 2-4 (my parents, bridesmaids who wanted to come, etc)

finished setting things out for Saturday/finished a few last minute things
bed: midnight
Saturday
630/7am up (really it was hard to sleep too late, haha)
8am-130pm: hair/makeup (there was like 8 of us..took awhile)
2-3 Lunch at my house (seriously, feed your ladies)
330: left for venue
4-545: get dressed, photos, etc
6-11: ceremony+reception
The day before the wedding consisted of going to the venue to decorate and set-up then relax until it was mani-pedi time and then I finished off the night with our rehearsal pizza & beer party.
My goal was the make the day as stress free as possible and I could not believe how relaxed I was.
Let's see some of this will get delegated depending on who is in town. We live about 1 hour from where the wedding will be.
Friday: Pick up the flowers, pick up brats from Piggery (yummy!) for BBQ at Lake House, Pick up food for BBQ from Wegmans, put together flower centerpieces, pick up tuxes, make sure we are packed for honeymoon (leave on Sunday after wedding), Make sure cats are taken care of, check in with B&B, Rehearsal and family BBQ. I think my mom and I are going to divide and conquer this list.
Saturday: Breakfast at B&B, Farmers market trip, Hair ~1-1.5 hr (only 2), Pictures, delegate remainder of decorating, Be on site at 3:30pm, Ceremony at 4, move into cocktail hour, dinner and dance until 11pm (all on site at a Vineyard).
Sunday: Sleep in (which constitutes 9am...), Family gift opening 10am with brunch, be on the road for Honeymooon (B&B bike tour in Vermont) by 1pm. Mom has agreed to make sure things get returned and back to our house on Monday. :-) Yay for a helpful Mom.
Hopefully not much!
I'm hoping we'll be able to drop off everything else at the venue the 2 days before.
We are going to go and decorate the garden that we're getting married in. Then it's off to get massages, mani/pedi's and a shower before rehearsal. Then it's off to some amazing Chinese food for rehearsal dinner!!
If we do a backyard reception, we'll probably be prepping decorations and seating arrangements. And then rehearsal/dinner. Nothing too crazy. I imagine most of the craziness will come earlier in the week in the form of project wrap-ups, haha.
One of the best things we ever did was have the rehearsal dinner the Thursday night before the wedding (we got married Saturday night). This allowed us to truly enjoy the rehearsal dinner and not worryabout staying out too late or drinking too much if the wedding was the next day. So Friday we got to relax and just soak up this amazing time in our lives. My mom, sister and my brother's girlfriend went to get our mani/pedis in the morning, went out for a great lunch, then we took a detour to visit my bridesmaid in the hospital (she'd just had a baby) and then a few of my aunts and cousins came over for pizza and drinks and we just lounged around and had girl talk and then went to bed early. It was the perfect way to gear up for our big day.
Mine is (hopefully) going to be very low key.
Sleep in, mani and pedi, shower, rehearsal dinner, rehearsal at venue, then my MOH and i are probably going to end up doing girly stuff til bedtime.
We can't decorate or pick up flowers or anything til the day of.. so i'm sure while it will be stressfree, it will drag on FOREVER knowing that I'll be so excited for the next day..
Day before: help with the flowers, hang out at the lake, entertain drop by visitors, final check of all clothes/accessories for next day. Rehearsal and dinner
Wedding day: massages and facials for wedding party, get hair and makeup done, get dressed and do first look photos, GET MARRIED, party the night away.
I'm actually working half a day the day before my wedding since I'll have the whole next week off!! Then I plan on getting mani/ pedis with my mom and my bridesmaids.
The day of the wedding I'll be getting my hair done. And I was thinking about getting a sandwich tray or something for my bridesmaids to while we're all getting ready (with a special getting ready playlist on my iPod!).

I unfortunately will still have a few things to do the day before the wedding (taking things to our venue and taking flowers to our bakery) and I'm trying to figure out what else I should schedule.
So...I'm curious what do you have planned? Or what did you do the day before the wedding?
