I don't post very often, but there are some people I recently deleted because their posts drive me crazy. One friend posts pics of all the items she bought that day and gives us a synopsis of everything she bought, how much it costs normally and how much it cost after her coupons so she saved so much $$ and blah blah blah. Every. Freaking. Day. Why on earth do I want a daily picture of her grocery shopping?!
Then there are the mom posts...I'm sure I'll post about my kids, but if you literally have thousands of pics of your one year old on FB and post about how he is doing with his swimming lessons and in his library group and how you're just finishing his homemade baby food then finishing your homemade dinner and pie for you and your DH, and at a garage sale earlier you bought the one year old a racecar bed and are assembling a gigantic playscape in the backyard...omg it's way too much - especially for a freaking baby! And that could be just like one or two days worth of posts. But I can'tdelete them...because they're by my SIL. Sigh.
Okay, sorry, not the point of this post, maybe we need a spinoff lol. My last posts have been saying I got my haircut, complaining about how DH watches the same boring TV channel all the time, being excited we got our wedding pics in, and telling people to come see DH's band and hang out with me when they were playing at a local club.
I usually post photos, I love to document our life through pictures.
I make status updates but not all that often. Usually if I'm starting something new (like currently I was posting about c25k and a 5k I am signing up for in March- and also how I discovered pinterest.com and am addicted!)
I post on a few people's walls, but that's really about it.
I can take it or leave it. Sometimes I check it everyday for a week, sometimes I don't log on for that long or longer. Just depends on how sick of it I am. lol
I rarely post, but if something funny happens I will post it, usually it's just lame stuff like, 'home sick' or 'going away for the weekend'. My dog gets the most attention on my FB, I post pictures of him all the time.
Things I've seen/heard and recommend like bands, shows, movies, comedians.
News articles.
Random titbits... "hey guess what I've found out..." type things.
Things that are funny about my life... but nothing specific.
Don't post as often as I used to though.
I post pretty random things lol its all either funny, or just out of nowhere. i also post my cooking efforts from time to time since sometimes it ends up in disaster or ends up turning out really fantastic.
I don't tend to post really personal things on facebook, I mainly use it to post links to fun sites I find, or helpful articles (usually holiday cooking related), and once in awhile I'll post my weekend plans if I'm going somewhere fun. No drama posts, no cryptic passive aggressive messages, no photos of baby's first poop. I think I generally steer clear of most things that people hate on facebook, but if someone hates seeing pictures of my child, well they can just delete me because my husband's family lives far away and it's easier to post on fb than email constantly.
I hide drama posts and people who constantly take pictures of their food. "Had an epic waffle at IHOP, here's 3 pics of the half eaten waffle with a piece of bacon"
My husband and I cook a lot and experiment a lot with different cuisines so I have an album dedicated just to that. Besides that I tend to post pictures about big events, birthdays, holidays, etc.
Rarely just the day to day unless I'm really bored.
I rarely post statuses, only if something really exciting comes up or if I feel something is really important to share. I only post pictures like once a month (although I update my profile picture more frequently). I post on my friends walls sometimes but then I tend to inbox a bit more because I come from a really gossipy town/school and even though I have a small friends list I don't want people reading my wall to wall all the time ;)
ETA: I have this one friend on FB that posts statuses about her marital problems! "having a really tough time with Dan because he works until 3 am four nights in a row and he never sees me or his daughter and I'm so tired of it and lonely...blah blah blah..." hahah
I'm not a huge status poster. Lately (since August thanks Irene!) I tend to mention my basement flooding, I'm sure that is exciting for all. And I like to post the random stuff my dog chews b/c I think her taste is funny (wild turkey preferred to vodka)
I mostly just change my status every few days. Right now it's a smiley face but a couple days ago it was a dig at Taylor Swift and Twilight before that. I try to post witty things or what's going on in DH and my life. No passive-aggressive messages or rants on people. Those are annoying.
I am on FB a lot but I don't post that much. Mostly updates like "fun day with the girls-wine time!" or "So glad it's Friday!". I do post A LOT of photos, but I DON'T post boring photos of my cat. That is a pet peeve of mine. (NO ONE loves your cat like you do! We don't need an album just for your cat!)
I HATE the dramatic posts like "Off to the doctor today to find out whats wrong with me-so scared:(...." UGH! Those types of posts REALLY annoy me.I try not to create any drama or buy into other peoples drama. I will admit sometimes I am tempted to change my status to something like "UGH I dislike unreliable people" to get my point accross to one person, but I would be to embarrassed when people started posting the why, and who question so I don't :)
I post things about my dogs and my husband and questions about pregnancy. I wanted to post one this morning but figured people are probably sick about reading about my puppies so I'll post my wannabe status message here this morning!
"I think it was very sweet that when I got up for the 3rd time to go to the bathroom, Mac (our little boy puppy) brought me his new monkey toy and set it down on my side of the bed! Sweet little boy!"
I post about football games, upcoming events we're doing (like Thanksgiving), or funny quotes/links to funny pictures.
Everything. I post about my day, people I care about, my pets, my thoughts... I don't slander people but I post about pretty much whatever comes to mind.
I don't post a lot - I MAYBE update once a week. When I do, it's nothing too exciting. My life is boring lol.
I tend to avoid political/religious status updates. I usually post something sarcastic/witty to make people laugh. Its just my personality.
Political articles if there is something that really drives me crazy. Pics of my kitchen creations. Not too much more.
Typically I post about activities or upcoming events - never post about my feelings or complaints.
I usually post goofy photos or random statuses about work or home. I bake a lot so I post food porn. I post cat photos occasionally too.
I dislike when someone goes out of their way to post a status bashing some movie or book they dislike, and insulting fans of it in the process. IMO that energy could be spent on something that isn't pointlessly negative.
Oh! I also post goofy stuff about FI so his parents know what he's up to because he doesn't update at all. :) FI doesn't mind..he's just not the type himself.
I post random, not-too-polarizing things, maybe once a week. My "friends" range from coworkers, to former coworkers, family I haven't seen in a long time, my dad (oh dearie, he is big on the facebook commenting...), old high school friends that I haven't seen in years, and really good close friends. I don't want too much out there, so I tend to censor myself a lot. It's tough! I guess you can filter who sees things now, but I'm not willing to put that much effort into it. Easier to just be less out there...
I VERY rarely post on Facebook. I spend the majority of my time on Twitter. Also, I work in social media, so if I'm on FB I find myself checking ads and things like that rather than actually using it to keep in touch with people.
Most of my list is our family and people from HS. Some of my family I only see on sad occasions. It allows us to feel more apart of each others lives. I post pics of my granddaughter and my kids. I play games. I was taunting my cousin, a big Sooner fan, when OU lost to Baylor.
I don't post a lot, mostly the occasional funny comic or a news story of some kind, either very serious or very silly (or both, these days), and very occasionally when something terrible or absurd happens to me, (like a work screw-up or when one of the cats got out) and I feel in need of a little social network support! But apparently I'm good about keeping it to a very dull roar, because people seem to be pretty responsive.
Mainly pictures of my cats. Sometimes what I'm doing if I feel super productive.
I think Facebook is ridiculous, and in my experience has basically become a place for nosy family members and 'friends' (and ex's) to check up on you. Keeping this in mind, I only post good or positive things on fb, I rarely complain and when I do it's usually said with a 'LOL'. I'm in a secret hidden group of close friends and we go in there to vent about whatever. I do, however, post pictures of EVERYTHING. Delicious food I've cooked or ordered, cocktails when they look pretty, pics of my dog and cat doing things that make me laugh...etc. Some recent things I've posted are:
H2B and I finished decorating the outside of our house this weekend (well, mainly the patio and yard, but close enough) yay!!!! Can't wait until we can go get our tree :0)
Before that was a picture I took of my wall where I'd hung the artwork I bought on vacation.
Decorating for Christmas today with h2b!! He's not nearly as excited as I am LOL.
Couldn't fall asleep last night, finally do and was WIDE awake at 4:15...I think my body was protesting my decision to skip Black Friday this year hahaha.
Very boring stuff, actually, LOL. I do make mention of or reference to my engagement often because I'm annoyed at certain people, and it makes me smile.
Also, I post song lyrics sometimes when I have a song stuck in my head. And I'll post youtube videos of my favorite songs if they're related to what's happening in life (like if I'm going to a concert).
I post random statuses (yesterday's was, "Back to work. Yay." lol), links to articles I like, and pictures I think other people will want to see. I am a mom and I have a lot of relatives as facebook friends. They like to keep up with my little girl :)
I rarely post. Most of my news feed is anoying status updates which would probably be what I'd post if I posted. I'll only post if there's something interesting. Which there isn't much really. If I have a cute/funny picture of my cat I'll post that. Which seems lame, but people seem to enjoy my near cat-ladyness!
I hardly ever post. If I do, it's something random or a funny link/video.
I post random stuff. or hilarious little quotes. I never post anything too personal.
I never post statuses, just links to interesting sites/news articles/images and occasionally I'll post a picture that I took of DH and/or my dog (I think I've done this twice).
@MissShork: I often post about what I'm making for dinner. I'm pretty proud of what I make, and I've also taken a new interest in cooking since we got married!
I very rarely post anything on FB anymore. I'm a very private person, even with my friends. They don't need to know every detail about my life or what I'm doing all the time. Most of the things I would post on FB, everyone I talk to regularly already knows about so why repeat myself?
I mostly post when some big event happens in my life, funny quotes, pictures with friends, or links to recipes I've tried. Boring, but I find when I do post something, people usually respond because I so rarely post. I probably pop up in their news feed and they forgot who I was. ;-)
Not very much, probably a random update about our dog, but that's about it!
I looked at mine, and most of them are about food, or random things that only my friends present at the moment would understand. Which is super obnoxious but I don't update very often at all, so I think I'm not too bad.
When I first joined I posted frequently. About news items I thought were interesting, I used to "good morning FBer" posts, something funny, music video posts, R.I.P. notices, news on my trips things like that.
For about a year now I rarely post (actually joining the Bee started me on phasing out FB). I swear the last few updates were a RIP statement; a shout out ot my london based pals when the riots broke out; and a general notice that "sorry i've been absent but I'll post more, I promise" update, in respone to tons of wall posts about "why aren't you around much any more"...Umm so yeah....I haven't kept that promise. Nowadays I once in blue respond to wall post thats really about it. I update a status every couple of months it seems.
I am part of a secret FB group I post in there cause we are group of close knit friends. Recently I've been interacting more with them. But I can't even tell you whats going in my timeline or anything cause I simply log on, go my secret group and log off. I call the Timeline/newsfeed thing the "outside" world, I really don't want anything to do with it. If I want to know whats going on with friend I'll go directly to their page and post on their wall.

I know we have lots of threads about the annoying things people put on facebook. So I thought I'd change it up. What do you put on facebook? Scan through your recent activity and share!
I post about meals I make (and sometime include pictures). I sound terribly domestic and might annoy off some of my less traditional friends but I've really taken an interest in cooking since getting married.
I also post pictures whenever I remember to take any. Typically from nights out, vacations, and of course wedding pictures.
Otherwise, I have very few statuses. Just a few ones like "home sick and drinking tea" that are pretty lame ones but I feel compelled to share with facebook.
