I like it. You could make it less casual with a veil or a fabulous flower in your hair. Have you tried on wedding dresses yet to get an idea of what shape gown you like? The dress looks like the Greek inspired dresses that Martha Stewart Weddings featured a couple of issues ago.
Oh I LOVE it! I absolutely love it. I think it is PERFECT for what you are describing. You could dress it up with some blinged out jewelry if you wanted. But...then again, I thought I wanted something simple, something just like this. And then I ended up with the Casablanca 1892 - anything but simple! I just didn't feel like a "bride" in the simple ones. It's your day - make sure you love your gown!
Have you tried on other dresses yet? I'm usually into really casual clothes, informal and simple. And I thought that was what I wanted in terms of wedding dress style. But I ended up getting a lacey, romantic gown that was more elaborate than I expected.
So I would really recommend trying dresses on before you commit. Sometimes although you THINK you want the simplest option, it doesn't always feel 'bride-y' enough when you have it on.
PS - it's a really nice dress! I love the bottom hem! (with what looks like a sheer overlay?)
I LOVE it. I wanted something like this for my own wedding & totally got talked into something fancier. I wish I had stuck by my "Does this look like ME" rule :) In my opinion, it's not too casual at all, espcially for what you're describing. It's a beautiful dress. If you're unsure, go try on some other dresses to ease your mind.
I'm thinking about dressing it up with a chapel length veil, then taking it off for the reception. I'm worried about the "not feeling like a bride" syndrome, too, but I'd really like to spend the money I'll be saving on some fabulous Etsy accessories!!
Those might make me feel like a bride.
It looks like a beautiful dress. Nordstrom's website says it is a jersey material, so I would just make sure it feels good and the right kind of casual when it is on you. If you have until next March, there is nothing wrong with looking a little longer before making a decision!
p.s. where are you getting married in Orlando? I am traveling down there in 2 weeks to choose a venue for an outdoor wedding :)
I really think that the dress is cute, but I think it may be too casual for a wedding. Have you looked into JCrew bridal gowns. They have a great selection to choose from. I honestly thought I'd be wearing the most simple dress with nothing on it. But when I tried on other dresses, I found that embroidery really made the dress so much more better.

I'm getting married in Orlando in March, outside at a park with a gazebo. I found this little jewel at Nordstrom for only $172, and it seems perfect. Casual, yet classy and elegant. My only fear is that it's too casual. I want to look breathtakingly gorgeous on The Day, as does every other bride, and I'm afraid that this dress won't quite capture it. Don't get me wrong- I love it. I think I'd be comfortable in it and feel like myself. It looks like something I'd wear. I just need some feedback! What do you think?
