I think it would just mean more extra work for you and your guests.
I mean I'm all up for themes and parties and such, but I'm not really how you would have a Mad Men theme without people dressing up! I mean let's be honest, the clothing was fantastic.
Having a theme and not really having guests participate might be a bit odd, and being so close to a wedding I doubt many guests will be wanting to buy another ouitfit for the dinner...
Anyhow, not sure how you would fit food/decor into it...
I think it is a really cute idea but I think it would just wind up being more work for whomever is hosting. Are you hosting or someone else? Either way I most likely wouldn't do it because I wouldn't want people to go out and spend more money on another outfit.
I know I'm in the minority, but I don't even know what Mad Men is. So if I was a guest there I either wouldn't get it, or just wouldn't notice.
I feel like the rehersal dinner is such an exciting night anyways, that a theme isn't really necessary.
Without dressing up, I'm not sure how the theme would really get across to everyone. They'd probably just think you added some decor, but wouldn't understand the specific theme. Is it the theme of your wedding? You'll have so much going on that weekend, is it another project you'll want to tackle?
I think it is a really cute idea. I know you mentioned the guests wouldn't have to do anything, which I think it is how you should keep it. I have been to a themed rehearsal dinner where we were asked to dress in the theme, and it got really expensive because there was a themed shower too and everything really adds up!

We are thinking of having a "mad men" style rehearsal dinner, but i was wondering, would people think this was cool or weird? The guests wouldnt have to dress or do anything differently. Its just the theme that would be followed in the decorations, invitations, food, etc. What do you guys think?
