@MrsBah:  It’s not my style, but if you and your girls all like it- go for it! (Mind you, I’m far from a fashionista & not into coutour, so this might just be too fashion-forward for me!)

A couple of things I noticed that are different on the original (that I like better):

  • The gathered part around the waist goes up higher on the original This makes the waist look smaller and the torso look longer. I feel like where it hits on the copy makes her boobs look like they are too low and huge and actually just breaks up her body so she looks wider than she is.
  • The shoulder strap on the original flares where it meets the bodice. It seems to flow into the rest of the dress. On the copy it is just a straight strap so it looks kind of awkward, like it was supposed to be a strapless gown & the strap is an after-thought.

Very fashion forward. If all your BMs like it go for it. My only concern would be that it may not flatter every shape nor would it work for someone who needed to wear a bra?

Def not my thing, but I think they look decent for being a replica.

I like it from the front but from that back it looks…odd. I think that these dresses could look amazing if done right, here are my thoughts:

I think the problem is that the long part is centred in the back so that it looks like half the dress was cut off. In the inspiration photos the long part looks more off centre so that it doesn’t go so far around the butt, this makes it more of a side/hip feature than a “coming from the butt” feature.

Also I would perhaps see if you can get pick long fabric that is more sheer. The more solid it looks the more it looks like half the dress was cutt off. In the inspiration photos it’s very obviously an overlay. BUT I don’t think that this is a deal breaker if you already have all the fabric.

@MexiPino:  YES! I saw both of those things but couldn’t think of how to put it into words. Your points ring very true.

I like your replica! The sparkles are too much IMO. I think they’re totally fun though. If your girls are into it just go for it!
