My fiance just graduated from high school in 2010 and he absolutely loved band. So, he now has a huge bass drum in his closet that he fully intends on bringing with him when we move in together. Rather than have this big ugly thing in my closet where i will bang my shins on it every morning, i was thinking about using it as an end table in the living room. Put it in the corner between the couch and loveseat and cover the top surface with cork to make it waterproof and use it to hold glasses and remotes. What do you think? Will it look stupid or classy?
Its dark blue with white heads and silver buckles, so i was thinking about getting blue curtains, silver curtain rods, white trim pieces, and blue slipcovers for the seats

Interesting idea, make sure you don’t do something that is permanent to it, you both may like the idea now, and hate it later.

Yeah the only thing he said about it was that we have to watch what is put on it since the heads are made of plastic, but i think its neat. Plus if we get bored we can tap out a tune, LOL.
I am just going to cut out a circle of cork to catch all of the water from drinking glasses, and put our tv and game remotes on it, but thats about it. Maybe a telephone when we get one installed. Everything else will go on my sweet coffee table.
My coffee table has a glass top and a real wood base, and the glass is actually a shadowbox, so im going to fill the shadowbox with sand and put my shell collection in it, then cover it with the glass top and caulk the edges to make sure the sand stays in there.

Hmmm…. not my style, personally, but it sounds like it might make a great compromise for you and your Darling Husband when it comes to having this thing around!
