I am not generally a fan of fake flowers, but I think the ones you got look pretty good! Not very plasticy. My only suggestion would be to trim down some of the frayed areas that you can see around the edges.
@Lady - I would have never though about using fakes.. These aren't the "real touch" ones either, so i can't imagine how great those must look. I know I definetly need to trim those little frays. I got too excited and had to take pics first :)
those do look pretty. But I still would have preferred real flowers just because they do look soooo much more elegant. If price is your concern, anyway that you can check either on high school or college campus for flower clubs/classes that DOES do wedding flowers? Our local high school has a floral club and they do all sorts of wedding/event flowers SUPER cheap, super creative (students' inspiration) and with teacher's supervision, comes out super nice. (Do be warned that they do have a downside of not being professional enough by changing flowers if there are cheaper alternatives without telling you). But for the price they offer, its insane what they can do for you.
@loveapril - That sounds like a really cool program for high school students! I've never heard of that before.. They should totally do that in our district.
Well I went straight for the pictures at first and then read your text and could not tell that those were fake! Makes sense now that I see your wedding is in August though lol I think they're very pretty - awesome budgetting, btw!
@ Mrs. Brew - they should have that program in local 2 year colleges teaching students flower arrangement classes, what better way to teach students than to get actual orders and have them do it through the whole process? Who knows, you might be able to get a great deal in your budget with real flowers. =)
I was at a wedding in January where the bride used fake flowers because someone was allergic to flowers. They looked great!
I really like what you've chosen. :)
I love your color choices, it reminds me of Mrs. Cowboy Boot's colors. So soft and romantic.
Looks great and the price is great!! Good for you! I say go with it for sure!
My cousin used artificial (don't like the term "fake"..lol) flowers and they were fine. I made her bouquets and the bouts...did them fast and lasted forever!
bloodgo - Im hoping to just show my mom these pics without telling her they are faux.. She does not like the idea of it!
toothfairy - That's great, I have never thought about having someone in the bridal party allergic before!
MyraG - CB's wedding was my favorite! My girls are in a dark purple color, my maggie dress has a "vienna cream" in the top that is almost tan so i thought the peach would blend in nicely :)
Bridegirl - You are totally right fake isn't a good word i should say artificial!
I usually don't like fakes...however, I think your flowers are really pretty! mostly because the colors and flower choices you picked look neutral and real. Aside from trimming apart the edges where they are frayed...I say beautiful! and great great great price! makes me a bit jealz ;)
Sulli - I agree, some colors can def stand out as "fake." I was definetly worried about that. We are also going to be in dim light.. So if anyone really notices i'll be surprised. Maybe when they smell them...Lol.
I have gone to a few weddings with fake flowers and honestly, I never knew until I would mention something about the flowers to the bride or maids! I think that close up and maybe in photos they have the potential to look fake but not tacky, the ones you picked out are gorgeous!
Well Im in the same position as you, Im having a destination wedding so I contacted a florist in Fl and just for me, 2 BM, my FI 2 groomsmen & my parents it was wayyyy over my budget!!! And like you I dont want to cut anyone out, like i want his parents to have bouts etc. Sooo I didnt see the point of payin for real flowers that I was just goin to hold during the ceremony and then jus keep em in the hotel to wilt. SO I too am goin to do artificial (My aunt is makin them for me ) And for our reception when we come back to our hometown , we can still show them off !! I think yours look great!

I went to my floral appt and ended up walking away with my bouquet, 7 bms bouquet, one bout, and 7 vase rental.... $700. Which included garden roses, hydrangea, purple stock. Because of the price I had to get rid of idea of GM's, and grandparents.
Feeling like I could spend my money more efficiently (like a better honeymoon!!) I decided to check out fake flowers. Im ordering from afloral.com but got these from sav on crafts because they were a few dollars cheaper.
Anyways, what do you all think??? I really love them! My main concern was how they looked in photos, I could really care less if anyone thinks im crazy for not using the real deal.
Real flowers BM bouquet - $45 each
Fake flowers BM bouquet - $10.99 each
Do you have any experience using fake flowers? Or been to a wedding with them?
