Filling out consultation forms online for area florists, and the one whose work I like best asks for a budget, rounded to the nearest $500. Well I was actually had my floral budget at $500, just wanting bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages for moms.
so that would be
1 bridal bouquet
5 bm bouquets
7-10 bouts for GM, dads, grandfathers depending on how many GM FI decides on
4 corsages for moms and grandmothers
is this possible for $500? I’m not particularly attached to any kind of flower so I’m fine with using cheap stuff. I could bump up the budget to $1000 but to be honest flowers are of extremely low importance to me so I’d rather not. I just dont want her to laugh me out of the floral shop if I say $500 on my form. What do you think?
PS- i know DIY is cheaper but it just isnt something I care to spend my time on so I’d rather pay someone else to do it

I think it’s definitely possible! It does depend on where you are, but our budget is also just for bouquets, bouts and corsages, and we are getting them for $350 (our wedding party is a little smaller than yours).

It depends on your location, but I think it’ll be tight but not impossible to get all those bouquets for around $500. Flowers were not a top priority to me either. I’m using a very reasonably priced florist (I shopped around a ton and ended up using someone who works independently out of her home so she has lower costs), and my breakdown is this:
Bride’s bouquet: $125
BMs bouquets: $75 each
Bouts: $9 each
Corsages: $18 each
My bouquets were initially more expensive but I was able to work with her to bring down the cost by choosing less variety of flowers and using just a couple types, which reduces the supplies cost.

It’s definitely possible, just be sure that she is aware that you are willing to use less expensive flowers, and talk through what your expectations are. That being said…be prepared that she may not feel comfortable doing what you want for that amount of money. If that’s the case, you might need to walk away and find a different florist.

Look online fore a wholesaler florist in your area, they are more reasonably priced.

I’m paying $595 for myself, our four bridesmaids, four groomsmen, FI, our dads, our moms, the officiant, three grandmothers, and the officiant (FI’s step dad), plus petals for our flower girls. I sent our florist inspiration pics and she sent me a quote. I wasn’t planning on spending more than $500, but she’s amazing and our wedding is taking place in a city that’s big on destination weddings (i.e., EXPENSIVE).
I’d say a $500 budget is totally doable! Just make sure that you’re open to suggestions and shop around. You can find someone amazingly talented that will work with your budget.

$500 should be fine especially since flowers aren’t a top priority. The florist has free range on the type of flower which changes the cost significantly and also the size of the bouquets really changes the price so fewer stems means cheaper. 🙂

@radishtime: I got my flowers from Wholefoods and they were way cheaper than a florist. Birdes bouq was $40, bridesmaids were $25 each, so well within your budget. They turned out great! I made the bouts and got corsages from a regular florist though.
